I'm just wondering whats going on with these carbon-fiber mufflers i want to buy one but they have been promising a sound bit for months know. Do they even have a proto-type for the 1200 it was supposed to be ready the end of nov. we are know into dec. I really want to buy one of these but i want to get one this season i dont want to wait and find out they won't be able to deliver one till the end of season.

Billy had a proto for his header/can shoot out. It was LOUD and gave the best results with the stock header. That was 11/25/09. Now, was it too loud for trail use, I don't know. Last I saw it was early December.

I hope its not too loud that was one of the things i like about these mufflers very light and quiet.

Plus, when you are on their site and click on any of their Carbon Fiber Silencers, they are all "Out of Stock". Looks like to me they aren't up to full scale production yet. Probably a good sign because Jason at Straightline would not turn loose an inferior product. I'm sure he is fine tuning it to get the most out of it. Just look at all those 2 stroke cans out there that cost you HP.

I talked to Nick at SPI and he said that the cans are going to ship either this week or next week. If this can turns out to be loud I'm going to be returning mine for sure.

I have a stage 2 carbon fiber Hindle sold by Powder lites

Ours is in production now and we will post video next week.
We should be caught up with 2 stroke cans by then and everything will be in stock.

I purchased my muffler in september, I received an email today informing me it would not be shipped any earlier than jan 1, 2010

We have put a ton of research into the project and we are really sorry for delays. There has been a lot more to this than adding a carbon tube to a muffler.
If you ordered from us or Striaghtline we will get these shipped asap.

I hope these things are going to be too loud do you have any idea of db's yet i like the sound difference it makes on the 800 accessive noise is big pain in the @#$ when your on a week long tour.

I ordered it from Straightline and I don't mind the wait for something build properly

I dont think im understanding something here. The way i understand it that this silencer has made the largest power increase according to billys dyno test and it the lightest silencer by far. But if it has already been tested how can there not be a prototype model yet and therefore no sound clips? Something can be tested if it does not exist?

I have mine and it is on the sled. Very nice build quality and it is remarkable how quite it is. Cant wait to get on the snow next week and let er rip!

Skid plates and new design mid shield will be here right around 1/1.
We also have brake levers, gas cap, and resivoir covers coming as well.
Ski plates will have drain plug hole and probaly be in the 225-245 $$ range.
I have black and silver coming.

I want a white skid plate and a mid height shield, like the mid shield Cobra makes for the XP's. Please post pics of the mid shield when you have them ready. The shield on my "X" is not going to cut it.

Your mid height windshield looks the same height as the 'X'. Is it higher or wider? Will it need a new base for the X model? Can you put side deflectors on? Looking to change out the stock X one, but would like to find something not too high that I can put side deflectors on. I want to keep the handguards on and have full turning radius.
I also hope your can is not too loud. Looks like a nice piece!

Cool ,I was starting to get exited when you said you had one on your sled . I have been trying to find one of these things for a month and i wasn't aware that they where even in production for the 4-tech come to find out you have an e-tec all is good. Whoo.

Maybe you would want a transparent windshield if you are going any higher. lol.

The shield I pictured is a stock X style, the mid is 4 inches taller, uses short base and I am not sure if you can use deflectors yet or not,

I know some people have theirs already.. Where are they at with the sound clips already? I wanna hear it WOT and see how loud it is. From what I have read, it has a nice throaty but quite bark until you crack the throttle wide open and then she gets a little louder? Love to hear it

Nobody has one for the 1200 yet, mine will be on shortly when we reassemble my sled for all the world to hear.

Brian what about your carbon fibre products are they mad in the USA , and have you been able to get some made seems those have been delayed quite a while also, ( black/Silver shield and guards) and production of skid ??? hows that coming too ?
