I installed a plug-and-play temp sensor on my 2010 V800 SWT part number 515176214. There is only one 3 pin connector to plug in. When started machine the temp needle went the whole way up. BRP sent out a bulletin saying if the temp sensors did this than install a 10 ohm 3 watt resistor in the Signalwire. Tried this and it didnt work any different. I tried 20 30 and 40 ohm 3 watt resistors inline per my dealerships recommendations. No matter what i do the needle goes to the top. Anyone install one of these? Any ideas ??

No ideas? I might need to post this in the REV or XP forum.

OK I'll try it. I'm not a snow mobile mechanic but I was a mechanic for 35 years. The wire to the sensor will work one of 2 ways either go all the way hot if you disconnect it or all the way hot if you ground it. So it has either a broken or grounded wire. Buy adding the resistor it is changing the resistance of the sensor that is one way to correct an inaccurate gauge. Is this thing plug and play to the existing wiring or is it possible to reverse the power wiring? Some thing you might check. It is also possible the gauge is toes up.
