Hey everyone. I am looking to change the thermostat on my 2009 4-tec to the 150 degree thermostat instead of the stock 170 degree becasuse of some other modifications that I am doing. I cannot beieve where the thermostat is located! Normally I would think a thermostat change would be a 10 minute job, but not this time!! Does anyone have any tips to make this easier? I already have the gas tank off, and it still seems impossible to change. Does the intake have to come off as well? How about the driveshaft? Any help would be appreciated.

Looks a bit tough to get to. Looking at Skydogs pics in the turbo forum it looks as though the intake manifold does have to come off but jackshaft can stay. I need to do mine too before turbo install. Let us know.

Don't have to remove intake. can access from right side but have to slide gas tank back still a pain in the neck. I think I did pull the jackshaft/secondary also had the reverse lever and battery removed.

Mechanics at the dealer get paid 1 hr to change the thermostat on the 1200 4 stroker. Skinny
