This year I got the itch to go crazy with the Carbon Fiber on my 2009 1200. I started with a Carbon Fiber-Look custom wrap from www.blownconcepts.com out of Plymouth MN. From there I added a carbon fiber windshield and hand guards from www.carbonsledparts.com Next came the Carbon Fiber Air Filter Guard/Hood Deflectors and full body skidplate from www.RPMComposites.com

Below are some photo's of the install. Raffi from RPM was great to work with. You can tell he really takes pride in the construction of these things. That was made clear from the first time I open the box.

What I was really impressed with was the smooth gloss-like finish on both sides of the skidplate. You can see it comes in 2 pieces and they bolt together with the provided stainless steel bolts.

The instructions were included and were very clear. It says it takes about 30 to 40 minutes to install. I removed the side panels and the muffler (simple 4 springs) and got to work drilling out the rivets with a 1/4" bit

I found most every bolt easy to get at and install with a couple exceptions under and behind the clutch but I was able to make it work. Once I have it in place and all bolts tightened half way I then start to tighten them all down equally.

And there you have it! 40 minute install just like the instructions said! Ready for the snow to fall! What I was was most impressed with was the EXACT fit of the skidplate around every curve and rivet. If there was suggestion I'd make it would be to include black bolts (as least for those that are seen near the front of the belly pan). Overall I could not be happier with the purchase! Keep building those awesome products Raffi!

I hope not, that means you are on the wrong side of the trail.

Just kidding, looks pretty nice, wish I looked into that before putting on the BRP skid plate.

Nice...I really dislike having to use those pop rivets to hold the factory one on. I took a black sharpie and "marked" over my bolts to turn it black.

Raffi has great product and stands up to alot of abuse .I have bet this thing through rocks ,brush ,stumps and what ever else and have not broken or bent one a arm or broke any thing under sled.

Thanks RPM

OMG, I thought the bottom of my sled looked bad. Where do you ride in a gravel pit?? ohmy.gif

Those skid plates are the bomb. Can you imagine how many parts you would have replaced if you didn't have the skid plate. Definately a good investment for your sled. biggrin.gif

So I've put on about 600 miles since I installed the Carbon Fiber skidplate and we have done some serious boondocking in that time. I have to tell you I am soooo happy that I invested in this thing! The very first ride I hit a HUGE rock hidden by the snow. It even threw me off the sled. I was really worried about the damage. When I checked the bellypan I could see exactly where the boulder hit as there was a pretty nice scratch in the skidplate but outside of that it stopped all damage! Little bummed that my awesome skidplate now has a pretty nice nick in it but without it I would have been in a world of hurt! GREAT PRODUCT RAFFI!!!
