Hi guys, I was just wondering what everyones opinion was about whether a riser is actually needed or if its a waste of money. I baught a 2" block riser but it seems like the cables are super tight...does anyone else have this issue or do i just have to play with it more.
I also wondered about switching my bars, I have a nice set of renthals on my old dirtbike I was thinking of switching over..but this will likely mean I will need new handwarmers..correct?
One more question...when u raise the handlebar on this sled..what do u do for a cover..it seems it would look kindof goofy to just put the old cover over it lifted up from the normal spot.? Any pics of ur set up with risers on these sleds would be awesome..thanks alot guys

I would recommend getting a riser but I do a lot of ditch banging and prefer to stand when riding. It depends on what your normal riding will be. I also had to get a longer brake cable and throttle extension for my snowmobile, the cables were way to tight with the riser and pivot I had put on it. The cover I have fits just fine over the handlebars.

A two inch riser would help the bars from hitting your knees on tight turns too. Longer cables are needed.

I've never checked but they are two different chassis so probably. Better to be longer then needed compared to being too short!
If you put to much tension on the throttle cable and it's adjusted with little to no slack on the carb cap... it will rev the motor up.

I have a 3" riser on my 98 Formula, and I have plenty of wire and brake line left.

I just checked it again for the 2nd time, there's maybe 2 " but it'd be stretchin it on my 99,

Put a powermadd throttle cable extension on it and put as high of a riser on it as you want. I have a two inch and needed the extension kit for my formula 3 700.

I don't know what I was thinkin, but I went at it again today and I managed to wiggle a enough wire out of the sled to fit the 2" riser in, the oil cable ended up being fine. But the wiring was definately tight! I tried mounting up my renthal bars from my old cr 125 and they sat very nicely...and I was really pumped about running them. But the length of the bars wouldn't accomodate the skidoo levers, unless I cut some plastic back which I'd rather not.
Can u buy a cover that will cover the rise and look like stock again? It kinda looks wierd with the stock cover on it 2" higher than the plastic? thanks guys
