i would want a 2010 nytro, 2010 sno-pro 500, 2008 IQrr. All would be some fun sleds to try out and pick from in my daily riding, depending on my mood.
Of course everyone one of them set up with a killer G4-graphics wrap and paired with a set of Curve Extreme Performance skis.

i dunno what would be my second choice, too close to call tween Cat and Poo. i have owned a couple cats over the years and they were nice sleds, so i still like them.. as to Poo, i have never owned one, bu have a little bit of seat time on a couple, i dont have anything against them either. i think they make a good product as well....but Doo's are easily my #1 choice!!!!

Well when it comes to few days trip I prefer my Zag Z1, I have back problemes so the is much more comfy.
Local trail riding for the day Mxz all the way.
I had my share of problemes with both brands so i dont mind riding something else than ski-doo.

My ultimate sled may never be built, in fact to get all of the following items, it won't be built but eventually will be close enough. It would look like a RUSH, have the RUSH skid but with an Assault track/length, but RevXP lightweight, Ski-Doo 800R ETec (or 1200 4Tec or Nytro 1050 135 hp, or better yet a 1200 HO 150 hp, but add 50 lbs to the RevXP weight), and Cat SnoPro 600 racer front suspension. Skiis would be Pilot 6.7's, shocks would be like RevXP XRS shocks with clickers for everything, or some WalkerEvans air shocks like on the Assaults. I'd like Cat's new 800 HO engine but it doesn't have DI so I wouldn't. If Cat used Orbital DI on that engine, after a year of consumer abuse, if reliable I'd get that. 163 hp, wow.
I love Ski-Doo and have always owned Ski-Doo, but you gotta give the others what they have, and I think the above wishlist reflects that. Looks are very subjective, but provided it has the super-low useless windscreen (gauge cover), the RUSH looks are out of this world. I absolutely love the hood and headlight/windscreen shape, its perfection, and I didn't think anyone would improve upon the Ski-Doo zx x looks but Polaris did somehow. I even like the look of the RUSH seat, and rear end, and believe that is the future. The RUSH is 459 lbs, so about 25 lbs more than a RevXP, which is quite respectable. It looks very rigid too. Polaris front suspension would probably suffice, but we're talking my dream sled, and I think the very unique Cat front end is the best, and their racers like Polaris' are very successful. But I still like the Ski-Doo's even lighter weight, their ETec and 4 stroke technology, where despite Cat's turbos, Cat and Pol are falling behind Doo and Yam. If Pol and Cat get their act together and put out a triple or quad naturally aspirated 130-160 hp 4 stroke, perhaps from a Suzuki sport bike or developed solely for a sled, that in a RUSH would do the trick for me, unless Cat or Pol release an orbital 800 2 stroke.

True but if the local dealer is rude and arrogant, then one starts thinking of other brands even if they're not Canadian. So sometimes it's not as simple as 'if you're Canadian you should buy Canadian all else being equal'.

Yah I love their different looks, their colours, and their PPS rear suspension, not sure about their over-simplistic looking front end (one ultra-beefy radius rod the last time I looked, unless new RevXP based Lynx have regular RevXP dual A-arms) but they must work well.

I'm curious, didn't you find the Nytro MUCH heavier feeling? That must be a 100 lb weight difference, and 15 less hp, though I know the 1050 4 stroke is awesome and quick, is the engine that good that it overcomes the huge weight difference, making you prefer the Nytro?

I guess I'm lucky after all ! My local dealer is doing an amazing job ! Maybe the fact that I got the biggest one in north america helps a lot. When I got a big problems with my zx about 2 years ago, the mechanic called me everytime he found something wrong with the sled asking me my autorization before doing the repairs and even kept the worn parts for me. Giving me good advice on how to tune the carbs for the 800HO motor. I bought my new sled from another dealer but Contant will do the repairs and the maintenance on my new e-tec they have a great all-around service. I'm not the type buy canadian or american but here in Quebec Ski-Doo is part of our heritage one of the greatest achievement made in quebec so we are rather proud of it that's the only reason. If Ski-Doo was all american made surely I'll buy it or any sled from the US but if the sled come with the tag made in China I'll quit snowmobilling for sure !

doo first all the way but for the other 3 brands....
1)2010 yamaha nytro rtx se, or a 2010 phazer rtx just because its so small, yamaha in general because of there solid 4 stroke base.
2)2010 cat crossfire 8 limited.... looks trick and the teliscoping handle bars look pretty nice.
3)2010 poo assult, sat on one at a show and it felt really comfortable for me. 6'4 250, i got on it and it didnt move. id want it with a 1.25 track tho. so i could trail ride with it.

I don't know about that Phazer choice, because the 1200 is as small (read: near as light) as the phazer, despite having over double the displacement (1170 vs 500), 50% more cylinders (triple vs twin) and over 50% more hp (130 vs 80). Phazer LOOKS small but weighs big compared to the TNT at least, so you may want to rethink that one. That was wet weights I think, the Yam dry weights maybe optimistic.
I'd like a new 164 hp 800HO Cat, in a HCR mountain version M8 or in a crossfire 8. I love the telescoping bars idea, I forgot to mention that in my list of stuff on my dream sled. Brilliantly simple. As for the assault, I can't wait for them to make a RUSH based Assault 800, which I believe eventually they will.

Yah I'd buy a RUSH if they put an 800 DI in it, or Cat's new SnoPro if they put a new 164 hp 800HO (esp'y if DI) in it. A RUSH with Cat's 800HO would be incredible, esp'y if DI, maybe in 2011 if Polaris matches Cat's hp.

I take you have not rode the new Yamaha's. There is no arguing that they are heavier, but when you ride one that has been properly setup you CANNOT notice a difference.
1st - 2010 Yamaha Apex MTX SE Turbo with a 162" track, but in the 2008 white and red color scheme. I personally think the Apex is the best looking sled ever made, There is just something about the way the body lines flow...
2nd - 2010 Doo Renegade 800R in white and red, beautiful sled.
(As you can tell I really really like White and red sleds)

You're right I haven't, but would think in off trail powder or extremely rough moguls with tight turns, the extra 100 lbs of a Nyto over an 800R would not be possible to hide. But then not having ridden one in those conditions, I can only ask someone who has ridden both.
I too love the Apex looks (I hate the Nytro looks from several angles, like side on but it too has some nice angles as you look down from the drivers position orlooking at it from around the front), especially when it first came out with the super low shield. I think it and the Doo zx sleds also with low shields are the best looking sleds ever made, the lines and design of those hoods/bellypans are impossible to improve upon.

Reading this was a revelation....I've been refusing to sell/upgrade my 01 mxz x 800 even with the awesome xp 800R because I just love it, and can't part with it. However I never seriously considered just having both it and the 800R. Hmmmmm. Only you can only ride one at a time, and I can't really see riding the zx x over the 800R as much as I love and am all but romantically attached to the former, and that makes the zx x an expensive lawn (or house) ornament just to look at. Still, it's possible, better than letting another decade of sled technology pass me by!

I would like to have one of each but I do not wipe my a.. with $100 bills...To be honest there is not one sled made today that will get me to spend big bucks on a sled...10 grand to me is a whole lot of money to spend on a sled and until some thing is made to blow away the Rev I will just keep wrenching on the old REV.
Sure I like the XP ponies and I guess it stops about there...Fit...Finish and working on the dang thing sucks..
Polaris..It feels good and is fairly easy to work on but it is too hard for me to trow around..
Yami...I like everything but the rear suspension..
Cat.. I just do not trust them...worse that a Doo
So my vote is a Vananburg..Boss..Hgear or m10..700 rotax

At the end of last season, I put 500 miles on a rented 2009 Nytro XTX and the weight doesn't feel that bad, until the end of the day. After 200 miles on the Nytro, I felt as if I had put 400 miles on a XP. The pull of that sweet 1050cc triple and the lack of a windshield probably contributed to that though.
The Yamaha had some problems that Ski-Doos don't exhibit, like poor handwarmers and ice accumulation. It is obvious which sled was designed in Quebec, in the dead of winter, and which sled was designed in Japan on wet wood chips.
Anywho, my first sled choice is still an XP or XR (if I could afford one). My second sled choice, if there were no Ski-Doos, would be a Nytro XTX.
