Full Version: Etec deacceleration issue

My Etec is great except at one point. Slowing down (no throttle) when approaching a curve or stop, at approx 5500 rpm, it transitions to full engine breaking, when gas is reapplied it acts normal. This makes the operation of the sled a little jerky in woods riding. My 08 SDI does not do this. Acts like the ecu is shutting off all fuel (to save gas?). Any ideas on how to smooth out this behavior? I have read that the 2010 ecu has a programing change to reduce deaccelertion at low speed. Saw it in new issue of snow tech mag. Can anyone confirm this? Could my ecu be reflashed with the new characteristics?

This won't help much, but Skidoo is supposed to have address this problem for 2010. Maybe a knowlegdable dealer can determine what the changes are??

Yes there is a reflash for your sled that will help with the engine braking and some other issues, take it to your dealer and they will download the new software to your ECU.
