Full Version: Mag side crank seal
Just wondering which way the seal is installed. Is the open side of the seal supposed to point towards the inside or the outside of the motor?
Crank seal on the mag housing is open side in towards the crankcase.

Ok thanks just didnt want to install it backwards.....

Do you have to use Molykote 111 or can ya install it without?

Clean the mating surface up, check for burs or nicks. I'm not so sure you'd want to try and put the seal in dry. You might deform it while pressing it in.
