Pop the primary off check the pto seal make shure the carb boots are good (not leaking air). Clean the carbs out. Just the standard stuff that you would do to any sled. If everything is in order you should be good to go. I would rather replace a bad carb boot than a piston and a jug. Or worse a crankshaft. cheers.gif

ya well as....one of the other articles led on about...I'm one of those 21 yr olds that never had anything given to them so I definately don't have the coin to afford to build a bigger new one, ahha..definately wish i did. I'm pretty sure the carb boots are good, ...how do you go about checkin the seal on the PTO? I think the sled is in god condition its got 6200 km's on it and its a 99, or so the speedo says...I've also heard those stories about people disconecting the spedo....it really makes it hard to buy a used sled after u hear that. anyways guys thanks for the input.... so as long as everything is in good order I should be able to run her B&&ll's out whenever I can!!! ??? cant wait

I would check the carb boots ... they only last so long before they start to crack on the underside of the boot. Once they start sucking air it will cost you a lot more than a new set of boots to fix it.

If you are jetted right for the conditions on a stock sled you shouldn't have much of anything to worry about. Do keep an eye on your temp gauge though. Running in minimal snow conditions where you are not getting enough snow on the heat exchangers, you will start to run hot sooner or later.

How high of an RPM? Depends on how it's set up. Single piped, it won't need to spin real high and if you over rev too much you're just losing power at that point.

You can check the carb boots and the crank seal w/ carb cleaner. Start the motor and spray these areas .If the motor revs your sucking air.
