So is this the 77 RV 340 "race sled" you have listed as part of your collection?
RVBOY
Nice sled !!!

but are you sure it's a 1977 ??

you have the short fuel tank and the seat of the 1976 RV.

check the 4 first number of your VIN tag.

1976 RV 250 model#3432
1976 RV 340 model#3433
1977 RV 340 model#3441

76 and 77 had the same seat and tank. 78 used the bigger tank and shorter seat that the liquids used.

You can clearly see it's a 77 RV first by the twin pipe setup and secondly the height of the bellypan in comparison to where the front bulk head supports are located. You can see a space above the side supports where as the supports on a 76 are closer to the top of the pan. The front nose design of the 77 is also differant to make up for the taller pan.

Yeah i know that,i wrote this because my friend have a 1976 with the 1977 pan and hood to fit with
his 340 f/a twin pipes, and i have always thinking the short fuel tank was on the 1976 model only, sorry !!!

a 76 RV with a 77 pan and 77 hood? How did that work out with the steering support which is lower in the 76's and higher in the 77 Rv's due to the differance in pan and hood height?

You are to much. I mean i see you list 2 77 RV race sleds in your collection in your list of owned sleds. I know one is the chassis from the Karpic family and this must be the other one you just got. I just wanted to know if my 77 RV 340 sled can also be called a race sled also, LOL, your killing me,
rvguy
Yimmy, Leave a few out there for the rest of us!!!!!!!!!!! It has been a while since we talked. Our RV restorations are coming along. What are you doing with a JD (junk deere) hood in the back ground of the one picture? LOL!! Fred Rodkey

Just to clarify your coments.....

If you payed attention to detail.... the spare hood in the background is the 1977 RVCC hood..... it has the hole for the stewart and Warner temp guage...... You probably knew that....... There was much posted about my RVCC a few months back,,,,,,.....and the findings.

I have the 1977 RV Cross country race sled from Performance products in 1977. There was 2 sleds raced in the Cross Country circuit by Team Bombardier. 1 raced by Mike Trapp, and the other.....Stan Hayes.

I have the Stan Hayes race sled from Team Bombardier.

Hey Blizzy............ It will be hotter than Hell in Arizona when I get there for the F-16 training.... it will be pushing 100 degrees this spring ......UUUGGGGGG.

BTW: I got a call last year from a buddy that worked with me at Northwest Airlines. He was at an auction in the dessert by Phoenix. There was a 1980 liquifire in the auction. I purchased it for $25. When I got it shipped up to Duluth, The hood needs decals and the seat redone..... underneath it looks like NEW!! No dry cracking or rot and under the hood looks new....... Best $25 I ever spent on a sled..... The liquifire has about 1,000 miles on it........!!! The sled was from the Mountains in New Mexico........ jsut thought that I would share that with you......... You would never think to find a snowmobile in the dessert.....

talk to you all soon,

Serial 3460 is a 78 340 RV free air. They have a 15"x114" track. Someone put a liquid motor in it. What type motor is it? You will find the type on the tag by the rewind
