I have a 1200 RenegadeX being delivered in the next couple of weeks. This is my first SkiDoo after riding ACats for 40 years and need advise on what to expect from the KYB Pro 36 and HPG R Shocks .
What settings have you found works best for agressive -logging roads and woods trail riding ( 45 to 70mph), for a 210 lb old dude - although the passion never grows old. I recognize that there are lots of variables especially where this is a 136inch track. Also any other spring settings front, middle and rear would be helpful.
Also, do you change shock or spring settings once you have the sled set up, either for changes in temperature or riding with the wife on those days when scenery is more important that all out fun.
Your response is much appreciated!

I have a 1200 X shorty and weigh a few lbs more than you. I found that keeping most of my shock and spring settings on the softer side has worked great for me. I would start soft all around and work my way up. What I find with most sleds I have ever owned is if you start too firm you will have a harder time dialing you sled in to your liking. I also find that a sled that is set on the light side is a better ride than one that is too firm. Things like darting and jaring rebounds on the rear suspension and hard steering are all results from too much spring and shock rate. The worst thing that can happen if you start off light is maybe a little pushing in the corners and bottoming out on really big hits. Start on the light side and work up from there thats my advice to you.
