Today I was looking at my 1200 Renegade and I found that on the top of the throttle body flap was sitting a pretty good layer of what I think is belt dust and coming off my 1000sdi that I dont like seeing belt dust being eat'n by the engine. Any one else have this problem yet and is there somekind of k&n filter setup for this. oh ya shes only got 2000 miles on her.

I just got mine,so I havnt had this problem yet,but I've been going over the sled the last couple days and from what I've seen the air intake system seems to be pretty "air tight" except for the flexible tube that you shove into the air box,but even that seems like it fits pretty good(but this would be my guess). So I guess you gotta look for where your "leak" is. (clutch area air/dust getting into your intake air)

Yes it does.....The REV and XP intake setups were pretty suceptable to belt/clutch dust but the XR setup looks pretty good to me..... TgC_emoticon142.gif

I have close to 3 thousand miles on my 1200 with the original belt. There is very little belt dust anywhere to be found. Under the hood and around the belt guard I found it to be surprisingly clean. The air intake is on the outside of the hood on the left side and the airbox is sealed pretty good. I can't see any of these sleds eating belt dust and if they doo I don't see a problem with what little dust there is around my engine.

Have you checked the underside of your airbox? Heat from the exhaust manifold can soften the heat shield glue, which causes it to fall off, then the manifold heat melts a hole in the airbox.

Btw, my 09 with 3500 miles (and no hole in the A/B) has no belt dust in the throttle body...

belt dust makes a mess but cant really hurt anything
that is not the case for a 2 stoke
