Here are the elans that were sitting in a old farm field. got all three on the right from there. 2 '72 singles, one ran last year, the other is locked up. not sure on the year of the twin, it is locked up also and tunnel is rusted through under seat.

the twin has slides also

Nice find for sure, looks like you have a 75 300 SS also, the front bumper is anyway but check the number on the right front side above the running board, should be a 3012 number,if so another 300 SS may survive. This is what I found in farmer Reynolds field. Welcome to the Elan addiction club,ha,ha

great find splakeman, I agree with the addiction, not sure my wife does!!! Anyway this was just one contact, I have at least one more guy that I am told has more. Years ago I had a 300SS bought right out of highschool. Was a blast to ride and looked cool too!!
The same farm guy has a silver MXLT for sale, it was under some tarps, windshield is bent down, track looked good. not sure of year.
the twin I have now, the tunnel has been painted, cant see data plate. Will work on that to verify year.

LUCKY find, especially the slide rail twin. I love Elans....

The elans are great fun and easy to work on,its good to see elan pics on the site no matter what condition there in. Remember to buy that 60x40 tarp to cover them all and just keep adding, she'll never look under there to see what you've bought, lol, good luck with the projects.

I can hide them all in plain sight!! she would never know, only problem is paying for the ones that aren't give aways. just had a guy call with a couple more twins for sale. claims they are good shape. I spent too much money on house siding!!! darn.
the twin I have is a'75 says 294 on engine.

Cool find. I joined the addiction this spring when I found a 71 elan. No rust, missing windshield. I need to find a carb kit and some undercarriage springs.

That one looks completely original , it can't have many hours on it , the hood vents are still in place , original skis and the boggies are still silver !
poidy
Very nice, gota like when the vents are still there in a 71, congrats, lucky dog biggrin.gif

I agree with Dave, very nice shape and no doubt have been inside most of its life. The vents on mine were missing so I traded a mint 72 set with Goose for a reproduction set. Awesome find Trundabuggy!!

Looked over the twin that I have because something didn't seem right. With flashlight in hand, I see that the tunnel I.D. has 3012 stamped on it, ('75 300SS?) Engine tag states 294.('74?) Carb is a HR73A, ('71-73 250 single?) Seems that I have a mixture of years and parts or are my resources incorrect? Not that it is uncommon or a problem, the sled is far from running right now. I'm guessing that the 294 won't be happy being mated with HR73A carb, likes a HR161A better? 300 requires a HR166A?
Not complaining, still very happy to have it!!!

TB,

I have a 3012 with a Type 294 (stock), in it with twin 137A's, or you could put a VM 30 on that motor from a 78 or 79 citation.
