Im interested in getting handle bar risers for my 04 renegade 800.
What brand/height risers do you guys have?
If you guys have some pictures that i could see so i could get
a feel for how they look on the sled that would be awesome.
If there's a a certain height you can go without having to extend
the cables/wires that would be great too.

thanks alot!

I have some 8" custom made risers from Idooski. I put them on my Backcountry X and the braded brake cable just has enough length..........................and that is after I re-routed it! The throttle and other cables were fine with extra length to spare. I think the Backcountry had an extra inch added to the steering post so that is why I think my cable is just long enough and dosent have much play like my "07" Renegade X did. I would not go longer than 8" unless you intend on extending your brake cable. Just my 2 pennies.

I have the same riser .... on my XR there is a clamp on the bake line, under the guage console, that can be loosened or removed to give you a littlle more slack and allow the riser to go all the way to the top without being tight .... I assume the XP would have the same clamp.

8" summit riser(205mm) on my 08'gade.i'm 6'3 and would not go any lower.cables are long enough you just have to free up the brake cable a little.everything else is fine.took a ride or two to get used to the extra height while sitting, but once i did it was hardly noticible.i stand 90% of the time anyways.here's what they look like.
BADMACHZ809
same here love em..rox 6 to 8
09 800R X
8" powermadd riser on xr renegade. Like everyone else said pull the brake line up through the clamp and had to run the throttle cable outside the riser. I wouldn't go any shorter, great for standing and sitting. I'm 6' tall.

Is it tough to get in there to loosen the clamp?

It wasn't tough, just took a bit of time and next time it would be a lot quicker. The only way I could see getting at it was to remove the guage support and according to the service manual these parts have to come off first (which is what I ended up doing):

- hood
- side panels
- seat
- console (panel that covers the fuel tank)
- guage cluster
- then the guage support

There might be an easier way to get at the clamp but now I know how it all fits together.

are all cables and wires long enough to do the 6 inch riser on my 04 renegade?

If it is an X then yes. If it is not then I would dare say no. If you are interested I have the stock Riser off from my 06 800X that I would be willing to part with. It is 4.5" it should fit no problem. If you are interested pm me and I can shoot you some pics.

Thanks for the reply.

I mounted my 2" rox pivot riser on top of the stock riser and the only issue I could sse is that the brake line has zero slack left in it. When I turned the bars it didn't look to get any tighter. Is it a problem if it is tight? Should I loosen up the clamp to allow a little slack?

After adding a riser on all my sleds I have always ensured there is at least a bit of slack in all of the lines/cables when the steering is turned all the way to right and left. Last year we had a guy with an Apex ride with us who had just installed a new riser and everytime he went to turn right his TORS would activate ... he lasted about 10 minutes after we left the gas pumps then headed home to re-route his cables. Also less stress on the cables/lines if they have a bit of slack.

ordered the Rox 4.25"-7" adjustable riser yesterday. there the new one's that are not finished yet, late next week he said. there going to be the 2 tone finish with the wrench less adjusters. sounds pretty cool.

what bar set up do you have on the gade now? is it an x-gade? the stock adrenaline setup limits you, if you have an x you can pretty much do what ever you want.

when I ordered them he said I would have them this week so we'll see. I'm still waiting for my sled and snow here in MI so no big deal yet.

I put the Ski Doo 8" riser on mine as was posted further up. Plenty of extra slack, but the brake line did have to be moved around a bit. Penny up now and put hand guards on your bars, the riser puts your hands right out there by themselves and guess what, they get a bit cold.

Don't forget to LocTite your bolts when you put it all back together.

Edit: I'm 6 feet, do about 70% of my riding standing.

I have the Doo 6" riser
MrGraffix
I have the Rox adj wrenchless riser as well, the 6 to 8" (the taller of the two that were available last year anyway) and I would definately stay away from the kit that only extends to 6.5" or whatever it is. I originally bought and installed the shorter one and I was still bent over @ full extension, and I'm only 5'10". Never had any issues with quick adj. coming loose and in fact I wrecked HARD comin down Widowmaker in the snowies last March and bent/broke bars and steering stem but the Rox riser survived and even kept bars fully extended after bars impacted ground countless times! I was impressed!

8" doo riser for me

Mine aren't very fancy or expensive - $55. I put the Summit high riser on my '08 (250 mm). Had to reroute the brake cable, including removing it from the retainer loop attached to the frame bolt. No binding anywhere. For adjustment, I carry a 12mm wrench depending on trail conditions. I'm 6'4" and I can stand and ride very comfortably.

I have an 04 Gade with 8inch risers. Love it and no problems fitting other than rerouting the brake cable a bit.
As you can see mine is the X model.

The new Rox adjustable risers are on their web page now along with some other new ones. They show no stock on them, but have pictures and descriptions. 4.3" to 7" and a 6"-9" set in a 2 tone black/polished alum color (wish they had all black).
bigyankesfan
here are some pics of my 10" risers made by Smitty's Speedworks. I am 6'7" and they are perfect. my sled is an 08 600rs and I did not have to add any extensions on my throttle or brake lines at all. i am not sure if that would be the case on other sleds or not. I do have the stock 8" riser from ski doo for sale if anyone is interested for 60 bucks shipped within the U.S.

Just ordered the rox adj 6-8.25 from ad-discountperformance.com. $168.00 with the wrenchless adjusters shipping included. I was impressed with that price seems like they can't be had for under $185.00 anywhere else. Can't wait to put them on and ride!!

I have the Rox adjustable 6-8.5 with wrenchless on my 09 Gade. I am short and these get tall for me at times. I never raise them up, but the size lower would be too short.
Rocky told me all about these new ones that are now on the web page and they are going to be absolutely sick! I will be going with the 4-7.3 which will serve my height a lot better. Here is what they look like;

I had a set of them (4-7.3") on order but cancelled them. There not ready yet they said so I'm just going to put a Doo 6" riser on for this year and get the Rox 4-7.3" wrenchless riser for next season. I wish they were ready now, they look sweet.
