Haven't been online in a VERY long time.

Ok so last year bought 2 swts 2008, 800 4 strokers

Dealer listed the features fax as having tunnel cooler + radiator in front

(btw one of the engines blew itself up on the way back from sommerset island last spring... Got so hot it melted the tub, dealer in st john's nl (where we live now NL) hasn't got a clue as to what happened yet, me either)

so that SHOULD be warranty issue i hope

So today i lifted up the back of the other (the non-lemon) machine, to install those track guide thingies that stop it from wearing to early, and i noticed there is no sign of tunnel cooling. Hmmmm. Was this a pay for option? because if it was, i paid for it. The put it on paper.

It looks like I will be going to court over this machine. I had a problem (1st of many) with no fluids in it. I caught it before we moved it thankfully. Then the front skiis fell of as I was driving from the airport to resolute. Not good, they forgot to assemble the skis properly. The track, Which is usually OVERTIGHTED on a new machine, was so loose it was ready to fall of, bolts were missing for the back kick up adjuster, the back light wasn't bolted properly, the list goes on. The engine went real hot and started running like bad timing all of a sudden on the machines first post-break-in trip. The windshield had only 2 rubbers holding it on, I took some off my safari for it.

And now, with the GOOD machine i notice that the tunnel cooler they said it had is not there. Checking BRP specs, I don't even see this as an option. They bull***ed me I think. Also sold me skidoo covers that would fit a short track, but only cover 3/4 of these machines.

Word of advice: If you live in the North or on the LAB, DO NOT BUY YOUR MACHINE AT NORTHERN STORES OR NORTHMART!!!! You will regret it. $38,000 total price for us for 2nd rate junk if you ask me. Nearly everything adds up to store issues.

So now we have moved to Trepassey, on the south avalon, any dootalk members down here? drop me a line and let me now if we get any snow here! lol

I hate to be the one to break the news but good luck dealing with the St. John's Dealer. You have to go past Clarenville to get a good one since St. John's and Clarenville are the same. They also don't know a lot about long and wide tracks and at the time tried to talk me into a Summit or Renegade. We also do not get a lot of snow to test these machines around here. I go to Central N-L a few times a year to get that.

Cheers!

Its in at fun and fast? or something like that. Ok, I was warned already about that, but so far I have had no probs, except they don't call you back, you just have to keep calling them until someone is not busy. But note taken about the lack of experience. My lemon is sorta sold (cheap as sin) the guy buying it brought it there to see if they will warranty the engine. So far they haven't said they would, but they took the engine out. They also made it clear all the other probs were dealer issues, not warranty things, and told me to take them to court over it to cover repair/rectify costs. I let the other machine go for 6000.00 which is dirt cheap if he decides to buy it, but a serious financial loss for me as it only has 38 hrs on it.

From the southern shore here, were exactly IS the snow? lol Do I take 12 or 10? I would be out hunting on the ice near griffith island hunting seals and polar bear right now back at res

Here jus fog and drizzle... people are saying no ice really this year, no snow either???

That's a pretty big move amaruq, I hope that you adjust well to the Island since you seem to be from the North. I lived in STJ's for six yrs and although the people were very friendly, I could not hack the weather and the lifestyle.

Really feel bad for you on the SWT's from Northern stores. Somebody tried to fleece you bad man, you just know that some sales person said "Ah shag it, it's just going up North, sell them anything at all, they won't know the difference" which is very sad. I am not aware of any tunnel cooler that is even an option for the SWT other than the standard bulkhead cooler. I'm not saying that one couldn't be installed if you really wanted it, but that's besides the point seeing as you have checked and there is no such animal above your track.

Even if you have the invoice outlining all of these "special" features that were not included, a judge would only rule that the dealership refund your money for goods not received. You are going to have a tough battle if the dealership doesn't warranty that engine and bellypan. Yikes.

Parts listing for 2008 SWT does show a tunnel cooler located at the drivers, not along the tunnel. Are you shure you do not have a forward mounted tunnel cooler??

Donald you are correct, they all have the bulkhead cooler and that's standard gear; amaruq is saying that he was charged for the installation of an optional tunnel cooler, and he has found nothing more than the regular cooler up by the drivers (the bulkhead cooler) as you have described.

Ahh yes. Play on words... Nailed me for what was already there... So there is a bulkhead cooler, could use that (sort of interchangeable with tunnel cooler)(not really but sorta kinda maybe kinda thing) Just put the price up a little because I requested it.

Yes it is a huge adjustment. Actually, to be blunt a major culture shock. Still trying to adapt though..... Lots of rules and laws, you need to be a lawyer to understand your hunting rights errr privilege here. Its actually a sad state, newfies got the raw deal from the federal gov't or whoever makes the rules -so much land and you are allowed to sit home a drink beer only it seems. Oh well, not allowed to drink beer where we came from so look at the positives right ;-)

Not sure how long we will last here. oh yeah and ITS COLD! lol I guess you understand that. How I long for drier air.....
