I'm trying to decide between a renegade 600 etec and a 1200 4tec gade. I've read about the differences, but would like to feel the differences. Any dealership between bangor area and southern nh that allow test driving?

What type of riding do you do? If a lot of offtrail and through the woods I would say definitely the 600 etec, if you are a trail rider and just want the longer track for better bump bridging and dont mind the heavier "planted" feel of the front end I would say 4 tec. You just cant throw around the heavier 4stroke like you can the etec. It's been awhile but Jackman power sports used to let you try if conditions were right, and so would Plourde in Presque Isle.

that 1200 is only around 575

I mostly ride on groomed trails(two to three sleds wide), with a long track for the bumps and to break trail on occasion. My brother has a Nytro xtx which I like the power on, but not the tipsiness or the weight. I want to find out if the weight of the 1200 is more manageable with the better handling chassis in the ski-doo than the nytro which is only 20ish pounds more. Would I be able to keep up with my brother's nytro xtx with the 600 etec?

the hp numbers aren't much different and the lighter 600 etec will allow you to keep up no problem. as a matter of fact when he is digging out that heavy 4 stroke you will be blowing by him. you could add a clutch it and even gearing if you want more snap.

The xtx is an animal up to 80 or so and will get the jump on the etec but they dont handle near as well as the etec or the 4tec on trails or through the woods, the much lighter etec is great in the woods or on trails, the 4tec is not as good off trail but handles as well as the etec on trail(some even prefer the extra weight of the 4tec up front), you wont be disappointed either way you go. Personally, I think the etec is the way to go but that is just my opinion.

wallingford equipment would let you take them for a ride once theres snow and as long as they have one of each set up. 782-4886 ask for mark.

David at Jackman powersports and Kevin at Presque Isle Ski dealers are awesome. I have ridden sleds at both places and not around a field either. I rode the 600 etec and 1200 100 miles in test riding.

Sorry Kevin. I meant Kevin at the The sled shop in Presque Isle. Maybe its just me but they dont get any more customer friendly than Kevin.
