Up for sale is my 1970 Ski Doo Olympique 300 (299cc). I am looking for $400 USD or Best Offer. This sled is in fairly good condition, with a very small amount of rust on the frame. The engine does not run, I rebuilt the carb last winter, but then it sat until now and the springs on the outside of the jets are rusted. Other then that the carb is in fair condition. There is a small chip on top of the air intake on the carb, but it doesn't affect how the carb works. I also rebuilt the recoil starter, but I think that I installed it incorrectly (I am not mechanically inclined) and sometimes it sticks. Probably just needs to be taken apart and put back together by someone who knows what they are doing, the spring or other recoil parts are not rusted at all. Just the outer shield is rusted, but that doesn't effect recoil performance. The engine itself is in repairable condition... I think it needs to be rebuilt, and it should run. The engine has spark and *Some* compression, but I don't think that it is the 120 psi needed to run. The gas tank is in questionable condition, as it is built into the frame and I am not willing to cut it open and look. The previous owner left gas in the tank for 10+ years, but I thoroughly washed the tank and let it dry until any water I sprayed in came out clean. There is currently about a gallon of gas in the tank now, and it has fuel stabilizer in it since I was trying to start the sled before I gave up. The skis and steering components are in good condition, but the handlebars are currently not bolted to the frame, as i had to remove them to take out the engine while I was repairing it. The skis are in very good condition, with no rust, and they are not bent. The right ski's tie rod is bent, but it honestly isn't bent enough to really effect steering. The throttle and brake cables are not attached to the engine, they are just hanging loose off of the handlebars. The decompression knob and cable are missing, the previous owner probably needed it on one of his other sleds and just took it off this one. The drive pulley is in fair condition. The track is worn out, with some fraying along the edges. The treads are almost completely worn off. There are no holes in the track. The bogies and sprockets on the track are not seized up, and the track spins freely, but I am unsure of their condition as I have no idea what a "Good" bogie/sprocket looks like. The seat does not have many tears in it, and is still in fine condition. The frame is in GREAT condition, with VERY minimal rust on it. The only rust patches is on the bumper, and other SMALL spots on the body. The frame is not rusted through, any rust spots are just superficial. If anything, you could scrap the motor and track, and just keep the frame since it is in great condition. The entire electrical system needs to be rewired. There are no front or rear lights or lenses, and the front light does not even have a place to screw in the light, it is just an empty hole with wires hanging off the ignition where it should hook up to the headlight. Also, some of the wires around the engine are melted, probably from hanging down and laying on the hot motor. Like I said, the electrical system needs to be completely rewired. The wire that connects the key on the dashboard to the engine is the only part of the electrical system that works, it is still able to control whether or not the spark plug is on. The front hood is in fair condition, it still does its job of covering the engine, but there are many spiderweb cracks all over it, and the hinge is missing (Probably broken off). The windshield is also missing... there are small pieces of fiberglass still attached to the windshield screws, so I am assuming it got smashed at some point. One plus about the hood: The lever that controls whether the headlight is up or down is still in great shape, and works great. I will post tons of pictures tomorrow, as right now it is pitch black out. If you are interested, send me a pm and maybe we can work out a deal.
