We have pressed and welded a shaft inside on one sled and left the other one alone and no problems all year with 162"track drag racing and pushing hard in deep powder up chutes.
From my past Turbo sleds are very easy on drive train compared to mod sleds.
180 degree Vmax 4 tears everything apart where turbo Vmax 4 never did anything in years of riding.
Dustin,
Dave is very right about this, turbo's aren't an abrupt or shock type power. They typically come into the power progressively (because the load builds boost) so you don't ever get that bang or snap unless you have the clutching way way aggressive and are using a 2-step... But then you wouldn't on a trail sled... Or? HA!
I can totally relate to your analogy Dave. Our PS800 Vmax4 hits WAY harder then my turbo trail Apex,
which has almost 50 more HP. Still on the original chaincase chain in the Apex, too...
Of course, my Apex will never 60ft like our Vmax4!!!!!! Thank goodness LOL! An individual could run out of talent pretty quick on the trails with that...
