gang, i was asked by the mayor of a small town in ontario where we ride (dubreuilville), if i could help them sell a few more permits to get more grooming funds for them.

the town has 900 total people and grooms 300+ miles of trails. the town losts its largest form of revenue, a lumber mill almost 2 years ago. they are floundering and need the commerce sledding brings to the town. the only other business other than hotel, gas and food is, a small mining operation.

i was going to offer permits for sale, having people pay pal me, and i would send them a permit and then i would pay the club for the permits.

the canadian govt put a stop to pay pal type selling for trail permits stating it was some sort of privacy violation for the clubs to use that type of sales tool. so i am just trying to use the system to help the club.

i am not getting anything from this at all. i will be eating the pay pal fees and the postage for the permits to the buyers. i am doing this to help the community. nothing more, nothing less.

buy before the dec 1st deadline and beat the price increase. 200.00 cnd funds per permit.
us funds will be prevailing exchange rate which is hovering right around 7-8% right now.

approx 185.00 usd per permit. i know the ofsc slogan of buy where you ride is a great feature, all i am asking is to spread the wealth to a very deserving community. ski

Forget about it. They've crossed the line. $200 per sled is just too much to use 3 or 4 times a year. If you don't live near or in Ontario it's a rip. They should come up with a permit that can be used X (say 7 non-consecutive days) number of times per year for the price of a week pass. JMHO

BTW, I've bought 2 permits every year since '95.

Those trails in Wawa and Dubreville are worth every penny of the permits.

The off trail is typically amazing up there too!

You should have put this in the Ontario Thread IMO.. Got mine on the 30th. People are selling them on Kijiji for 200 still..
