Looking to buy good front shocks and springs used or a lead to a place that sells them new. Also reaching out to all 75 245 owners for the orange paint code for front nose on sled. Have the PPG code of 9000 for the pan and the rest of the sled.

I've always used the kimpex shocks for the front ski's on all my R/V's They are the same except the letting stamped on them. I just put the letting downwards. Should add that it's been awhile since I got some, so don't know if they are still available.

Great idea but I will need to check which one of my parts catalogs carry the Kimpex shocks. As far as the springs, any idea on having them re-arched or isn't that possible?

There are shops that re arch truck springs, could find one locally and give them a shot.

What the hell I'll see what happens, thanks

My RV springs were flat in front of the spindle too. I put them in the press at work and re arched them and they still held the shape after a season of riding.

Curious, when you buy new shocks, do they come with the rubbers in the eyelets? I've good 3 Rv's & shock are good but all could use new rubber bushing in eye's.
Any one have a good cheat for this? I know its almost impossible to get the old ones out with out ruining them so I would imagine its darn hard to get new ones in also. Had one guy tell me he just sawed the old ones off flush with side of eyelet & put black plastic washers on each side??

Was just on Kimpex's website. They list the front ski shocks for a 79 RV Cross Country as 08-114-09. This is the same part number as the Olympiques. It also shows a picture of the shocks on page 608 and sled applications on a few pages after (think doo's are on 611-612.

I would bet the inside of the rubber is actually good and serves it's purpose as it's always the outside that appears and is ripped and torn. I just razor knife all the ripped rubber off and leave it giving them a nice clean look after they are sprayed in a fresh coat of rustoleum satin black. And yes the new shocks would have perfect rubber already in place.

I can't even get into the Kimpex site to look for 75 RV ski shocks and I think they are differant from the 76,77, and 78 free air shocks??? There's a mention of olympic shocks or CC RV shocks in th post below so I'll have to read it again to see if those shocks will fit. I have been searching for the orange paint code on the front nose of the 75 RV and no one has it???
