Went on a trip to haliburton forest last year on November 29th ! trails were fabulous, but they make their snow too.
no they don't lol that rumour has been going around for years... I have a place 5mins from the base camp. he has an old snow maker from the local ski hill, but it hasn't been used for years, he only ever blew the parking lot though lol

Seriously? They have better snow than the Timmins area in December? That's not even that far of a drive from Michigan.
come up & I'll show you around the area! The District 6 Ontario trails intersect the Wildlife, but they generally need more snow and cold to be ridable. They're also worth checking out, actually I dont ride the wildlife other than early season, it gets boring fast, but I've been riding there for 20 years.
due to our elevation and eastern proximity to the great lakes (1400'-1600' ASL) we often get more snow than areas north, south, east and west. or rather we get snow & they get rain. There can be a 5 deg difference in temp only 20miles south of us quite often. This area is known as the Algonquin dome
you are generally good to go at the wildlife for a ride after the first week of December. only 1 year in the last 5 have I not had a great ride there before Dec 15th. 2 years ago we were able to put some serious miles on those trails and the TOP Ontario trails in the area - by Dec 10th we had 3' of snow.
they need 2 good dumps of 8"-10". the first one they let the sleds pack it down and spit up the rocks, the second one they'll groom it
I'll be there at some piont early dec to test/tune
