Went to the 156x2.5x16 camo extreme on my 08 Summit X 154 and love it on the set-up snow we found east last winter. It realy bites and a little more vibration but not much

I put a 15" wide 154x2.5 on my hillclimb and loved it. Made the sled much more nimble. Seemed to trench a bit less with the bigger paddle. Kept the front end out of the snow better

It raised the fun factor by a few points. That makes it worth it in my books. I would recommend it for sure.

I have the 156X16X2.5 so far it has been great. For sure out climbs the old 154''. Havent been able to test in all conditions because i got it near the end of last season but i have been happy so far.

156x16x2.5 Rode it all last winter and love it. I ended up dooing a lot less shoveling then I did with the stock 154. Going up from the 154 to the 156 is a direct bolt on upgrade. Stock drivers work perfect.

Works 20% better in the deep. They do vibrate a bit and is not a fast track across a lake so not for racing. I love this track

What we notice is the 2.5 works alot better in heavier spring snow, hooks up alot harder on packed roads, the stock powdermax works a little better in deep fluff but over all the 2.5 Extreme is a better track IMO....it's biggest fault is it's ALOT heavier so response will be down a bit, peak climbing speeds about the same.

hmmmmm all i care about is pow. I have a new 2.5 coming. Hope i dont regret it. sj

With the 15" wide track. keep in mind it could differ from the 16" wide. I found better response from the snowmobile but peak climbing speeds with the same clutching seemed to be a bit less. (like 2 mph.) Could easily have been the conditions. But it is a heavier track so. I think it spins a little slower.

Trenches side by side same slope
08 stock 154 everest 800 vs. 09 hillclimb with the 15x2.5x154
the camo extreme trench was quite a bit shallower. Again. maybe I had a bit more momentum. But it feels better to ride.

I vote extreme!

Here's a question for you guys. On the Tracks USA sight, it seems like the regular camo extremes and the new single ply tracks weigh about the same, at least within a pound or two. I am putting on a new 15x156x2.5 camo extreme on my 146X (after new rails of course) and the new track weighs 57 pounds. The same basic track in the single ply is 56#. Why bother with the single ply. I thought the two ply might be better for me, because we ride alot of power lines where they trim the new growth about a foot off the ground, and there are pungee sticks sticking up all over under the snow, just waiting to rip your track or shish-ka-bob you. What does the stock, ported single ply 146" track that came with my sled weigh? Thanks.

with the 2.86 pitch 16 wide the paddles r only 15 wide. Had it on last year liked it lots. the little extra paddle seemed to make lots of difference in powder. they say it's really stiff but with the extra height it must still fold over cause it floated well. That being said i figured even more would be better so 3 pitch 16 wide on there now.
mine is a 163/162

Another question . I am getting ready to put my new 2.5x2.86x155 on and was wondering if anyone is pulling every other clip out or using it fully clipped.Pro-cons wink.gif

You'll get opinion both ways. I prefer fully clipped because there is less friction on the hyfax.

Thanks WB .I can always pull off later.Easier to pull than add back on.
