Ski-Boose Deal of the Century on NY Craigslist!

Hope someone can snatch these up!
Kingsville Doo Nut
WOW, That just may have been one of the best deals of the century....

I would have nabbed them if New York was a little closer. The seller listed the 'Boose as a "late 1960's", but it had to be more like '72ish because of the backrest/seat and decals it had.

does anyone have one for sale around Ohio?

Looks like a little bit of a drive from Ohio though.

Here's another one on Craigslist. The seller says it's a 1969 Ski-Boose Mark II. By the way, if it is actually a 1969 Mark II this would be a pretty rare item as I believe that 1969 was the first year for the Mark II and they didn't make very many. He's asking $150. It's in Cheboygan, Michigan. Here's the link:

I haven't seen a picture of it, but the ad says it needs a seat and windshield, but the fiberglass is good.

Ironically I can tell you that it takes 4 hours to get there from my house from a recent trip to Muskegon for a 2003 Dodge Ram Diesel! Thanks for the look up!

I've left him a message. I'm interested in the fact that he mentions "glass". I've only seen pictures of 3 other 1969 MKII's besides mine, and so far, mine is the only one that has a fiberglass hood and backrest. The other 3 had polycarbonate and were cracked, crumbling, and in disrepair.

I hear talk of the '69 Mark II being rare because of limited production the first year... I have compared my serial number to only one other 1969, and can tell you that there were EDIT:920 2143 2349 2512 'Booses between that one and mine.

If anybody has access to a '69 Mark II, please send me a pic and the serial number for further historical fact finding.

tcnomad,

I'm not sure you will find any reproduction hoods out there...I would try to contact Dale Jones, "The Ski-Doo Doctor"

D.R. Jones
34979 Fox Hollow Rd.
Le Sueuer, Mn. 56058
1-507-665-3837

Meanwhile, would you mind sharing some detailed pictures and serial number of your 'boose with me? My dad has a '70 Mk II as well and it's in great shape yet.

Finally found a boose. A rare 1969 MK II.. Just a little work needed. Some new decals, paint and change out the hardware. Might get a new windshield.

DoubleT
I recommend keeping that windshield. Just get a bottle of NOVUS brand plastic polish #2 and polish it. It will turn out beautiful. They are a special tint of yellow and no repro's out there have been able to mimmick the exact tint. Actually you may find polishing the whole Boose will yield a very nice original. When they're that clean they are more valued than restored. Maybe a decal kit too. It's worth a shot. I almost ruined my 68 by restoring it. It would have been perfect, but only original once. some that are rough are better off restored. And hacksaw did a beautiful job on his.
