I've had lots of turbo sleds here on the dyno and I have seen a trend as to what seems to be the best one.
Now I guess my question is ,is it that the brand that I see the most used because a few guys have made good power from the one brand or is there really a benefit.
I Know right now of a 1200 doo making close to 400hp and it's not using a garret.
Whats your opinion on the type of turbo (garret,borg-warner,Mitsubishi's etc and it's benefits.

hey cliff. this is a nice easy thread, lets just hope it stays peaceful and stressless, upon a conversation with the guys at aerocharger or hiper, dont forget the bennet sled , i know it made 430 hp at dynotech, other than the bling and proline that kits gotta be fairly feasable, and before anyone says the turbos too small and creates too much heat , IT MADE 430 HP . ill dig up some old pics of it and hopefully i can post them.

cs1006,
Yup, Greg had tested that at Dynotech. He still has that sled, I believe, decided not to sell it.
Funny story I remember someone had put a pic of his sled as their avatar last year claiming it was theirs trying to promote their best engineered turbo kits.
He wasn't too impressed, never heard anymore about that company after that?

Burhead.
Thanks for the input

but I'm asking about the turbo charger being used in the kits not the kit it self.

a pretty expandable question , is the best turbo the most efficient one, or the one that makes the most hp. or the one thats the easiest to install, general consencus bolt on a garret and never look back heard it 100 times, thats quite a list turbo 89 speaks of and im sure theres alot of merit to the statement, but contrary to belief aerocharger is without a doubt the easiet to install and maintain, not a first place finisher in the heat and effiency world but thats the thrill of competition, a big success rate in the evergrowing utv and atv turbo market , p.s. theres a boosted spyder soon to be running down the road very soon with an aerocharger on it , and as i said above still capable of making 430plus hp on the 4stroke doo,

I agree with the Cs remarks we have been using aero for a long time. the only problem is, everybody wants a garret. so sooner or later you have to start making a kit with it or you will lose sales. But the aero is still the easiest, cleanest, most user friendly turbo out there. our aerocharger 1200 kit takes 4-5 hrs to install that less time than it takes to go on a date to the mall with the little lady.
