I just sold my 04 swt last week and today a new expedition sits in the garage. I'm very excited for next winter. So far i Have only driven it off the trailer into the garage. I saw one of these in canada last year and it was love at first sight. I have a question for those of you who own the v-800 in this chassis, will it haul two people at 60 mph? I plan on doing some touring with the misses. I have read on here about all the tourqe but what about crusing speed?

Congratulations you have a great sled, there are a few issues with the V800 but if you take the time and read up in this forum you should have may years of good service almost trouble free, as for speed it all depends on snow/trail conditions, I can't comment too much on the 20" track but with my 24" I can get 105-110kmh in ideal conditions, 80-90kmh is easily achieved under any conditions.

Now let's cross our fingers and wish for snow! laugh.gif

Don't know what chassis you are talking about. The expedition XU-TUV was only offered in the 600 sdi last year so there will probably be no feed back on the 800. I can tell you there is no worries with the 600sdi with two people and pulling a full sled at 60mph+. In very icy trail conditions I did find that the little fan could not keep up and I would have to stop and throw/pack snow on the rear cooler every 10 minutes. Keep in mind that I was hauling a three year old infront of me and a wife behind me an hauling a large otter sled, so jumping off trail into soft snow was not an option. I am thinking about getting some scratchers for next year. If BRP is listening it would be nice I you could keep that fan running for longer than the 20-30 seconds it runs after you shut it down. THis might help drive more heat out of that little radiator when it starts to overheat.

It is the yeti II chassis. From what I can tell they do not offer this sled in 2010. I had a hard time finding one because most dealers do not carry such models for their floor plan. I wish someone with some miles on one would respond and tell us what they think after some extended seat time.

If you're calling 60mph = 100km/h, your Expedition will be close to wide open to hit that speed 2-up. However, who cares! It's a four stroke, put it to the handle and have fun all day. Either way, if 60mph is your target, you should be able to enjoy yourself on the Yeti II chassis as it handles very well at that speed on groomed trails.

suv1's input is valid as the Expedition V800 and the Skandic SWT V800 have very similar performance characteristics.

That is very interesting, as I also bought a red 2009 Ski Doo, Expedition, Tuv v800 just last week. I am quite impressed
with this sled, and feel it will be a good choice for my ice fishing, and some exploration check on my deer herd that is
yarded up during winter months.

Downeaster where are you from? I'm from Maine

These sleds are huge and heavy, but very comfortable.
How much did you pay for yours?

I live in the Western Mountains of Maine, in the vicinity of Kezar lake. I drove over to No Conway, to get the sled last
week. Seems that it is identical to yours. I paid $8999 and thought that was a good deal. I am getting older now, and
have no interest in speed, but need more confidence in reliability, and power, and not getting stuck. After a lot off
discussion here on DooTalk, I made my decision over a Skandic. I did have a backup 2009 SWT, sitting in a shop
nearby, that was a left over from last year, in case the Expedition got sold prior to my being ready to buy.
I believe I will be very happy with this choice, as I see no advantage to the smaller sleds.

We paid within $50.00 of eachother.
In my search for one of these I called N. Conway only to find out they sold theirs a week earlier, now i know that must have been you. There is only one other of these Expeditions in New England and it has a deposit on it.
I can't wait to try it out.
I'm in southern maine South of Portland.

Yes, I talked with one of the reps at No Conway Powersports, and he told me that someone else had called and
was looking for the exact same machine that I purchased. That must have been you. I agree on it is a sweet
machine. I am gonna love this machine.. I moved up to the western Mountains 5 years ago from Kbunk.
I have snowmobile trails that are groomed all around me, and plenty of lakes and ponds to fish.... I assume that
you got the red one. I don't like the new version that Ski Doo has come out with, as I think it is getting away
from utility, and it seems to be problematic with the change over from steel to aluminum. Unfortunately I feel
a step backward for the Expedition.
