Sawyer county is the richest county in the us as far as $ for grooming is concerned, if you want to jump your sled in hayward you had better plan on entering the hayward 300

there is fire roads as you get closer to cable and iron river. Areas around Hayward are mostly private property.

I have always wondered how do the fire roads work, can you just take your sled and do what ever you want on them or what?

I've ridden around there my whole life. Played around on the fire lanes alot. It's a good time. The trails are pretty nice up there too. There's a bowl between sealy and cable on the right side of the trail heading north which is kind of fun to jump in. You won't regret riding up there. If you're staying at telemark I would suggest heading north from there towards Iron River. Some cool jumps and nice trails to haul "edit for bad language" on.

Also between trego and cable most of the way is ditch riding which is exactly what you want because ther are some sweet driveway jumps and a few roads you can clear pretty easily.
