Anyone out there running NOS? Not looking at holding down the button every time I climb, but looking for that litle extra when I get in trouble or need that little extra.

works awesome, once dialed in. PM me once you buy a kit and I'll help you out with some small details that made a huge difference!

I highly recommend it if your aware of whats going on in side your motor type tunner. It is IMO the best power add on money can buy and extrenely safe if you know what your doing.
Personaly i feel, its a must for anyone that gets into the extreme back country, the nice thing is the motor can remain completely stock and with a nos installation will still out power most all moderately moded motors on a big pull.
I run a modified RT1k with nos in the Revelstoke mountians with guys on turboes, and will pull ALLthe chutes they pull. I have the advantange of using the nos if i wish and WAY less weight.
I use the Boondocker system that can be adjusted from a 10hp gain to a 70hp gain, with just a turn of a dail.
I have found in the BC interior Revy, Sicamous, Valmount areas the use of the nitrous systems on stock sleds or moderately moded sleds have become the mainstay for the extreme backcountry. This shows how well it works. The system is inexpensive and can be easily installed by most all tunners. Plus the cool thing you can move it to your next sled, should you sell your current sled. Unlike most mods eg. BB, porting and pipes.
There is a learning curve but once you become confortable with it you will love it and the advantage it give you.
Caution it will destroy your motor if your careless or donot know what your doing.

I've got an 08 800r with just over 1600 miles. Would I still be safe to run nitrous? I also have a Terra Alps head. Which kit do you guys recommend? Ease of install, operation, maintenance? A couple of my buddies modded their m1s this year and I'm looking to keep up. I'm, maybe 190lbs with gear, so I'm thinking this will be the trick. It'll just be my little secret!

There's guys who swear buy it, but I coped out! Not this time around anyway. Let us know how you make out though.

I,am one of them guys that love's having big power at a push of a button when you need it. But i caution anyone that wants to combine highcompression heads and NOS, not a good mix.
I don't know if your Terra heads are of high comp., but it is much safer and better to run nos with stock compression.
Your crank is fine even with 1600miles. NOS used properly is very safe even with high milage, if your motor is going to go it will with or without nos.

I've got the mid elevation head, 13.5:1. Do you think that'll be an issue? My friends and I will be splitting a 45 of race fuel this year, so I think that would help. What other factors are there to figure in? I'm pretty meticulous when it comes to my toys and their engines, but I've never used NOS. I've been very curious and think I'm ready to take the plunge. If I learn anything, it's definately going to be from this site! I too, one day, may become a "sled guru".

At 13.5 depending on your nos hit and elevation you may want to run a mix. 60/40 or even a 75/25 mix with either c111 or c12. No need for a 50/50 mix with a 13.5 ratio at elevation. But it is a trial and error, with piston and plug monitoring at first.

I run 12:1 ratio (stock) in my RT, with 91oct fuel, NO mix at elevation(6,000ft+) with a 35hp hit. On the button all day long if i wish and no holding back, no engine issues.

I was running a Genesis 1250 with 16:1 ratio in my hill climber, c111 fuel no mix and a 70hp hit. NO button, full nos from the get go. Generaly 20sec. speed climbs, exceeding 60mph. Great fun but last time i purchased VP c111 it was $15 a gallon a few yrs ago.

I have a Renegade setup for the mountains . The motor is stock . What will i need to do to setup with NOS I live at 2200Ft. Will i need to change Jets? I have a MBRP CAN.

Will i be able to use it at home in the flat land or willl i only be able to use it in the mountains and how long can i hold it on 91 Octane Fuel?

The best thing you can do if your planning on running nos, is to keep your motor "stock". Run no more then 35hp shot to start. Once you get familiar and comfortable with the system you can play a little more with a bigger hit and motor mods. Always use 91oct. and fallow eigther Boondockers or Boss installation operating instructions.
How long you can hold the botton depends on the hit and fuel ratio, most will hold 3-6sec. But you can setup that nos will inject from the get go and continue till the run is done.
Nos is very safe if used properly and yes keep your MBRP can.
