Well... I feel like an idiot. Upon actual examination, it turns out that I already have the forged RAVE's. I guess I got a little paranoid and just assumed I had the cast ones.
On a slightly different note... Why would the oil on my RAVE's look all milky brown, like there's some water mixed in? What do I need to check?
I just did the same inspection. My 08 154 X had new RAVES. SN ended in 6(new), not 5(old). After 2 seasons of riding I had some carbon build up but not too much. Only carbon was on RAVE tips. Clutch side rave was evenly covered in clean oil.
Mag side RAVE had milky oil on it. Water?
Could this be water from leaving my fuel tank half full all summer with no stabilizer?
Maybe due to idleing and engine not getting hot and condensation collecting up in the RAVE?
Perhaps a good ride will clean this bit of milky oil out?
