i am hearing mixed reviews about riding, some say its ok, others say its all ice

i am willing to go up in marginal conditions and ride but i'm worried about cooling if there is no fresh snow....they are supposed to get 1-3 tonight, but that may not be enough. again, looking to ride eastern UP, paradise area, west to grand marais

any opinions out there? really dont want to blow up my sled over 1 weekend

I rode there last weekend. Friday I was overheating just going a few miles to get to my off trail sites. In the woods, there was lots of snow but you only used a few inches of it. Very hard. Sat the trails where mushy. By Sat afternoon the 8 north of town that goes along a road was all dirt and water for about a mile. We packed up and went home. They need more than 3" to get me back up there.

Actually trail conditions are pretty good, to me this is the best time to ride, all the groomers are running as much as possible, very little riders.

With warmer temps this weekend like last weekend it will be perfect!

We were up there Friday/Sat/Sun last week and had a riot!!!!

We are pretty much off trail riders though...But this time of year anyone can go off trail...
