Just wondering how the trails held up after the warm weather and H2O fell. Did the groomers make any dents in the base, or have anything to work with???

I suspect the snow is packed like cement. Studs/ice scratchers would probably help.

BTW, I live across the street from The Bargain Zone in Monmouth. One of the guys who works there rode his new Cat F-8 to work today. Didn't get a chance to talk to him, but can't imagine he'd be riding if the conditions were too bad.

When I headed into work tonight, I noticed that one of the Monmouth groomers was out. I'll most likely take a little ride, tomorrow afternoon, to check out the trails. Might even try heading for Lisbon Falls, to visit my parents.

The trails have been decent, we went from Milo to Kakajo via 110 and B-Pond yesterday and to Greenville via ITS 85 today. There were definatley quite a few brown spots and icey patches, but I had no problem with cooling, no ice scratchers, just studs. After thursday the trails will be good!

Head north! I'm in the Fort Kent area. I know the drive is a little further but it's worth it. Plenty of snow since November. We've only had a sprinkle of rain all season. Not enough to hurt anything. No ice, grass, dirt, etc. etc. Trails are all groomed. Powdery base for cooling, plus we just got about 10 inches last night!!! biggrin.gif Its the place to be. I'm tellin' ya! cool.gif

I was in the Presque Isle Area on 2/26, 27 and 28. The trails are awesome. It rained pretty hard on Friday night causing some ice. Otherwise the trails were awesome. We rode on the 26th 150 miles, 27th 250miles and 28th 100miles. It was a great trip. The only problem area was in and around ashland as their new groomer had been broken down for 4 days. Although bumps never hurt anyone. I live in Turner not far from Schreps and prior to this past weekend the trails were good. I haven't had the chance to go out since the rain but I have seen plenty of people out and about.

Rode from my house in Hartland to Skowhegan and back via ITS 84, local trail 33A, and ITS 87 on Saturday. Trails were icy closer to home and bare in some spots, but got better closer to Athens and Skowhegan, and overall not as bad as I thought they would be. Hopefully the 8 or so inches we got yesterday will help out!

200 miles, Fort Kent 85s to Portage to St Agatha loop(105, 83, 85). Trails were pretty nice if you ask me. Super fast. Im in love with Maine!!! 92 was pretty smooth too.

Saw a Bald Eagle eating a deer!!! So coool!!!

Just wish it was not 11hrs away!! I felt MUCH safer riding in Maine vs Vt. You can see miles up the trails.
