I was wondering is anyone riding the trails in Vermont? I would like to trailer the sled less then an hour away from Burlington to find any snow. Is it even worth the drive at this point?

While not ideal, trails should be fine around Groton. Central Vt are very ridable. High elevation mountain trails are good. Getting there is the secret. wink.gif

That is the tricky part. With only have had one ride from Bolton to Groton under my belt I don't think I know these secrets yet. It sucks its Valentines day tomorrow or else a buddy of mine that I ride with knows the trails pretty well. Hes going to be in Boston this wkd.

we were gonna park at the upper grill and ride from there,or go to rt2 @concord and ride north. guess we will check out groton first.

I was at lake Elmore today for the drag races and the trials looked halfway decent. Talked to a couple of people that rode in and they said the trails were pretty good. A little further than an hour from b-town but not by much

Take Rt 15 into the Hardwick/Danville area......grab a trail map,(find a place to unload/ list on the map,or check VAST website) and head in ANY direction from there, you'll be fine. Obviously, the farther north/N.East you go,the better the trails will be.But the trails out that way are good.! right_on.gif

Anybody have any good words to share as to trails? I am hosting a large group next week and want some good new trails with decent conditions to ride on. Pretty good around upper elevations of Rutland county.

Spent the last 5 days in St. J, Danville, Walden, etc, trails we hard pack - but nice - they picked up some snow yesterday so they should be in great shape now..

I rode from Pittsfield to Chittenden and back a few times on Saturday. The snow in the Pittsfield valley is nearly gone. At higher elevation in the trees things were much better. True spring conditions. Without a freeze at night though I don't see how it can last without more snow.

Rode yesterday after we got about 5" of heavy wet snow. Still pretty good riding in the higher areas . check www.chittendendammers.org for info
