Errol to Pittsburg & back great even at 40+ degrees

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today, Wednesday, we parked at 7 islands bridge parking area and traveled 119E to Umbagog to Errol then 18W to 129N to 112N up to 1st Ct Lake to 5S to Colman to 18E back to Errol to 115 to Millsfield Pond Rd back to Seven Islands Parking lot.

Every single mile of this 120 mile trip was groomed within the last 12 hours and in great condition. Thanks to the Umbagog SA, Pittsburg Ridge Runners and Swift Diamond Riders grooming teams for restoring the trails after the big ride in last weekend.

Even though the Temps started in the mid 30s and were in the low 40s during the afternoon, the trails held up very well. Unfortunately, it started to rain around 5 PM. Lets hope not to much is lost before the cold front comes thru on Friday. I am sure it will still be good riding this weekend, but the trails may be hard with icy spots after we go back into the deep freeze for the next week. Lets hope for some new snow when that cold front comes thru !!

well, looks like we might be headed up to pitts then :-D hopefully it will be good enough in the north conway area tho, at least if all the snow doesnt melt and freezes up then it would make for a good base that will last a while...hopefully. this weather sucks, way to to warm to be february

I live in Berlin, heed the warning and head another 20 minutes north to Gorham, it will save you much hassle. Avoid any of the road that were plowed in the northern area too. The dirt roads are, in surprise, down to dirt. I spent quite all day out on the sled, and last night out in the jeep between trails checking conditions. You'll have great riding if you head north from Berlin/Gorham area. The waterbars are holding up alright for the most part, the flash freeze made this snow like incredible cement. Be sure to watch for rocks and roots, groomers have been out doing what they can, and doing a good job of it, but another few inches of snow is definatly in line. The areas north of here (Berlin) got a dusting to an inch of snow, and it worked great for lubin the sliders. Hope this helps all heading north this weekend!

I managed 510 miles this week end. Had my wife with my so no off trail = good milage days. Friday we went from 45th Parallel Canbins up over Indianstream and deer mtn back down the east side of rt3 to 4 mile brook down into Errol. Though Errol on to 7 Islands into Milan all weather riders territory. Then over to Nash stream and up to the back of Diamond peaks Only rough stuff was 110 to the back of the peaks. We continued on 110 to Log Haven for lunch then back to 18 and over to Swiftdiamond and 45th Parallel. 210 for the day. Saturday stayed mostly in the SDR PRR trails for 245 and today a quick shot over to Dubies Pit stop for breakfast took 5 to 120 to 21 to 20 to dubes then 146 to 141 147 139 to 140 to 131 to 5 back by 11:30 60 miles nice weekend should be a good week for all the vacationers headed up and we saw alot of them on the way home.

has anyone heard how much snow theyre expecting in NH wed/thurs...when i was in conway yesterday profile said maybe a foot but who knows...that would be perfect for that area since there is practically no snow
jnj
noah says 40% chance of light snow everyday for the next 5 days, I think we will have some for the weekend if not we'll have the scratchers down and stay off the lake, oh well It's the northeast. thebee.gif
nordicmike
since its northern NH, theres a chance for snow for the next 2 months...
