First off I would like to thank all the WI dootalk riders that came out to support me. It was cool to see you guys/gals up in the stands chearing me on.
Saturday:
COLD COLD COLD When we got to the track it was -10 and the track was like an ice block. Their was open practice untill 12:30 with racing starting at 1. This allowed the groomer to get out on the track and soften it up, along with the riders breaking the track in or breaking their sleds, eaither way you want to look at it.
Right before I went out for my first race Terry the owner of I-Race came up to me and said, "your Dootalk group is here, you better win now." HAHA great I thought, now even more pressure. In the past 6 years of racing all of my crap weekends, with horrible results come from medford. Anyway race #1 in Semi-Pro Stock #1. I ended up in third which i was very happy about, because in this class we had 3 factory Polaris riders. Mike Bauer, Bill Smith, and Andy Leiders.
In round 2 of Semi-Pro Stock #1 I finished 4th place right behind Mike Bauer, Swish88 had a helmet cam on me for this race, and I cant wait to see the footage. I was pretty happy with this result, because i held mike off for 2 of the six laps, and after that I stayed on him close enough that if he would have had a mishap i would have been back to third.
Round 3 I finished in another 4th place. Right off the start line I had a bad start and my little doo motor just could not keep up to the bigger HP polaris's. But I ducked underneath in corner one and was right back to 3rd place. After the first rhythm section we made the tight left hander and flew off the big table top 2.5 wide. (I say 2.5 wide becuase 1st place was just out in front of us by a little bit) I was a bit nervous becuase their was not to much room to land and make the right hander, but everyone came out ok. (for the dootalker that asked how much throttle i know to give it off the jumps, my answer still stays the same of.....pin it out of the corner, and dont let off, that was the only way to make it to that landing)
Overall for Saturday Semi-Pro stock #1 4th place
Semi-Pro Stock # 2
First heat I had bad luck, I landed off the finish line table top, perfectly on the landing (in 5th) all the sudden i went around the corner and down the next straight, and my overheat light came on and the dash was flashing at me. I decided to back off and not wreck the sled, if something was actually wrong. When i pulled off the track the coolent bottle had enough coolent, and their was no holes in the heat exchangers so we went on with our day. Last place aka 6th
Second heat, I dont quite remember what all happend but i do know that i finished 3rd so it must have been pretty good. I think one of the Polaris guys crashed hard and I went buy him, and beat the rest of the field.
Third heat, I had to get third to get third overall, but guess what....I choked and got 4th, I simply could not run the pace as the first three guys.
Overall 4th place
Again thank you dootalk riders that came out to support me and my racing. It was great to meet everyone and I look forward to seeing some pics and video's that you guys and gals took.
thanks again
