The Snow Goers, celibrating 40yrs, was one of the founding clubs of the ASA. We still have a couple of the original members too, Ken & Anne Nagel. Anne tells me that she still has a record of the minutes from one of the first meetings.
The trail will showcase our clubhouse, one of our 5 warm-up shacks & 26Km of new trail developed this spring.
This is our only fund raiser for the year & moneys raised go directly back into the trail system which is the largest in the province. Last year we were able to aquire almost 30Km of new trails West of town near Goose Tower & a new warm- up shack on the Trapper Lea's Loop to the East.
Because of the elevation in the area we get pretty good snowfalls & the temp. is usally warmer than the surrounding areas. Last year it was -30C in Whitecourt & Fort Assiniboine but only -17 in Swan Hills.
We're having the blizzard of the decade today - snow should be good.
Check out the town of Swan Hills website - there is a link to our trail map & other info about the area.
You can PM me or call club president at 780-333-8188 for more info. We hope to see you there.
