Yes, you can get a 2 place tilt trailer for less money that is no secret. The reason being that double trailers are mass produced and it is a very competitive market. This is a specialty trailer and the only material saved is a sheet of plywood and a tie down bar. You still have the same amount of side rails, tongue, coupler, lights, tires & wheels and labor to build. Axles are the same price if they are for a single or double as are the cross members.

I have been using a single place trailer periodically over the last year and there are many advantages. Ability to back inside your garage to load or unload, No worrying about hitting the side of your garage door opening and makes a great work platform. You can get at your sled from both sides and you can maneuver the loaded trailer around with one arm easily. Pulling your trailer out for use is a breeze since they are so light and narrow. Even stored beside your garage in the snow I can pull my trailer out for use without another person to help pull. Your fuel mileage loss is minimal, if any since these track within the width of your tow vehicle. They can be towed with any vehicle.
