I am looking to ride in this area. VAST website theres limited access to the higher elevations. I was wondering if anyone who rides this area or has ridden this area could give me directions to these areas. If the snow won't come to me, I'm going to have to go to the snow! Thanks.

I was in VT on Monday/Tuesday this week. My first time on VAST trails. We rode in Caledonia, Essex and Orleans Counties. 110 miles on Monday and 125 on Tuesday. By far the best snow was in the wilderness areas in Essex and the Willoughby Gap forest area. I would stay out of Orleans until they get another good dump of snow.
Pic from Tuesday somewhere near Willoughby Gap forest.

Thanks Gargoyle. Also read that the Groton/Waterbury/Barre area as a good amount of snow down there.

Just got back from NEK. Rode Caledonia, Essex trails yesterday, nothing but good base, powder, and no traffic; great riding.

Do not ride cental vt plymout area. Bridgewater gate is closed that is 12N and 12S both gates closed to ride the road that is right trail shut down again. Bridgewater to Barnard very rough put 100 miles on today due to rerout horrible riding need more snow. Heard north of Barnard is bad too on 12 N groomer skid is in trail blocking it ha go figure right? Stuff is groomed in this area but rough rough rough. Go north maybe more luck after this storm.
