Hey folks,

Taking a trip down memory lane now, lol -- just wanted to ask if you guys have ever sledded on the trails around the region starting from rue Labelle, in Saint-Jovite? My story is that back in mid-Jan. '02, I stayed at the Mountain View Inn (run by a really nice Swiss couple) near Mont Tremblant. This was the address of the place:

1177 rue Labelle
Saint-Jovite,
Québec, J0T 2H0

The website's at:

I rented out a Skidoo from the hotel, as well as apparel, and went on a 3 hr. fast solo sled (part of the rental) starting right outside the hotel, on well-maintained trails, past several villages and a creek, etc. I can't for the world of me now remember the names of the town I passed (small sleepy places), but I'm trying now to locate those pics. Beautiful area. It was my first, and last (todate), snowmobile experience, so my heart was racing somewhat as I sped through those trails.

Anyway, any of you sledded near that Inn -- and what you thought of the trails? Any experiences you wanna share? luvmyrev.gif

This is my second post -- I posted my first post on the Ontario board. Anyways, fine forum here, and in dootalk generally. 10/10.

Cheers,
BB

Hey, folks....lots of hits, but no replies yet! Go on, a penny for your thoughts! biggrin.gif

Was thinking some of you have had to frequent that route, given this small world of ours.

Yeah, I've been up in that area many times. I usually go up with a group of guys and we stay Ste. Agathe. However, for years we always rode in that area as part of our trip. Mt. Tremblant was great and we always rode up there, however, they closed down the one main trail (rail bed) that went up that way, so the traffic slowed down tremendously in that area. We still stay in Ste. Agathe, but we usually go east and north from there and sometimes go in the St. Jovite area.

I was up in Saint Jovite in late January and had a blast. The one thing I didn't like was that it was difficult to find a place to park the trailer. It seems the only place we could find to get on the trail is at the Confort Inn (in St Jovite). It is right beside the trail and the hotel has a big parking lot. The Comfort Inn is just up the road from the Inn you stayed at.

Going out of St Jovite there are lots of nice rolling hills with great grooming and lots of chances for powder. We also went to Labelle (about 20 minutes away) and left from there. There is a huge parking lot in Labelle to leave your trailer. The trails going out of Labelle (at least the way we went) were nicely groomed but very flat.

We are heading back up near the end of March so hopefully the snow will hold up.
