A friend of a friend is has a couple of sleds for sale.
- 01 Summit 800 with blown motor, not sure what went
- 02 Summit 800 running.
From what i have been told they will be loaded up with whatever options were available at the time.

I have not seen them, so don't know anything about them. He is asking $5000 for the pair.
Is it worthwhile to go look or just too high.

Thanks

Dwight

Sounds high to me I was thinking if the one is in good shape maybe 3200 (depending on miles) and the blown one maybe 500 bucks for a parts sled would sound resonable to me. Worth a look if the guy sounds like he is willing to bargain a bit

Yep,
I don't think I'd pay much over $4000 for the pair.
How many miles are on each sled. If it is high, I would say you should be paying even less.
Don't forget, this is old technology. Ski-Doo has come up with 2 new chassis' since then.

I was thinking that sort of price might be about right. As I said I have not seen them and all I know if from word of mouth. Was thinking about just getting the broke one as a project if the price was in $6-800 range. I am not actually supposed to buy another anything until I sell one of the others(so says the wife). grinch.gif
I was told they are both 800's and have read nothing really good about them. i.e weak bottom end, poor durability. If it is a squeeked piston and nothing more is it still even worth rebuilding? I have access to a 617(this one seems indestructible) would that make a good swap? This will strictly be a trail/ditch machine, no mountains.

thanks
