Just seeing if anyones going to winter games... I'll be there on my 440/800.. In fact I would be out riding right now, if my Dalton Ultimate pins were here...

I'll be there.....last year was awesome weather, good snow - good times!!
VenomF150
Last year was the best year that I can remember... it was so nice out, we were on the ice by the keg ALL day!
Koony
Yes, last year would be hard to beat. I'll be there with the Toft crew. Mostly yamaha guys with a couple of Ski-Doos including mine. We'll be congregated at a converted camper/ ice shack. If anyone of you guys finds us, feel free to stop in for a chat and some drinks. We also frequent Okoboji Boats and the Sneakers tent.

Hopefully we get a good snow the week before like last year. That really made for some good riding. Hwy. 71 between Spencer and Milford has been groomed just recently. It is very solid and should hold up to traffic quite well. Some traffic would actually be beneficial for it right now to help loosen it up some. Then the groomer would have something to fill the holes in with. I'm going to ride to Horseshoe Bend today and see if the groomer has been through there. I wonder what the lakes look like? Anyone been there recently?

Alright so me and a friend who wakeboard up there are trying to set something up with the DNR so that after they do the Polar plunge if they will let us wakeboard under the bridge by use of a wakeboarding winch they are seeming pretty hesistant so as of now nothing will be done but we are trying if not we will find a pond and cut it open and do it but we are giong to be wakeboarding winter games wether its on the bridge or not, I will keep you guys posted always welcome to have spectators... But like i said as of now it's not going to happen... we are looking for a pond to cut open or we will make open water if the weather is warm

That would be Gabe's RX1. Have you met? He's offered me a go at it but I don't want to take on that responsibility. Maybe on the lake if it has good snow.

I dont think ive ever met gabe personally.. I work at Danboms up in milford, and used to do Gary's work, and I gotta guy that works for me that used to work at Tofts... so ive heard about it
Koony
Danboms eh? It's a small world. I used to work for Tofts too. I may have worked with the dude that now works for you.

It looks like things are shaping up well for the Games. We received 6" of snow here in Spencer last night! More snow in the forecast for Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday. How about the Lakes? Do you have good snow cover now?

I go throught the north part of spirit lake everyday to get my kids from daycare and I've been watching East Lake and it looks like a quick way to oveheat your sled and melt your Hi fax - the snow that was there looked hard as hell. I'll bet the last shot on Friday helped alot and it's currently snowing as I write this...(11:42 pm Sat. night) I hope it keeps up, last year set the bar pretty high to say the least. Has the groomer been going down by spencer? Last year I did a loop from my house (10 mi. north of spirit lake) down over all the lakes, around stylecraft and got on to 71 to spencer and over to Dickens area and then up to Terril, Superior and then back to Big Spirit and home. 150 miles in all, you guys have nice ditches down there.
VenomF150
yeah we have pretty good snow cover up there now koony, looks like ill be lucky to have the 440/800 together for winter games... had to send my crank into Straightline Performance for new center seals, they called saying I have a bad rod bearing, so i might as well buy a reman'd crank... too bad, cuz now with all the snow we're sposed to be getting this week, it'd be awesome riding.. I'll be around up on the lake though, just look for the guys riding couches around behind a four wheeler again. Always a good time anyway
VenomF150
oh, and yeah, they've been grooming highway 71 here very nicely.. looked out my door after the last 6" and they were already grooming by like 9:00 a.m... it's killing me not being able to ride!
Koony
Yes, groomer has been running in Clay county (Spencer, Dickens). I believe Casey Shoemaker is running the Challenger this year so many thanks to him.

The Little Sioux River is a great ride right now. We rode the Spencer to Sioux Rapids section last night and it is fast!
VenomF150
Sweet, i just got word that my crank should be here by the end of the week.. so i'll be out beating highway 71 to death here next week.. w00t!

I will be there!! If anyone spots the honeycomb rev scootin around or sitting by a pull behind bbq with ribs stop and say hI!!!
Koony
We rode the Mitch Poock memorial ride yesterday. Included in the ride were stops in Superior, Terril, Lake Park, Spencer and the lakes area. Snow was awesome everywhere we rode. It looks like Winter Games will be graced again with good conditions.
VenomF150
I was hoping to be able to do that ride again this year...(not sure if it was the same poker run last year, but i think it fell about the same weekend) and it was a blast last year too... Im just HOPING that I don't get hosed by straightline and not get my crank for winter games...
Koony
Anyone checked out John Dee lately? He's got us in for a possible 8"+ for the 5-10 day forecast!
VenomF150
That'd be sweet! Sounds like my crank will be here tomorrow, so we'll be in great shape for the weekend!
