Where you put on 40 miles. I know I can't leave my yard in central state right now. I rode 3 miles today and it was all water bar all the way. East or West which ever way is horrible.

St. Albans/Fairfax area. The trails were rough, but passable.

I have been keeping in touch with the owner of twin brooks up at woodford. After today's and Sundays storms they will have enough snow .They are still clearing the trails from the ice storm. The trails are still closed but they are trying to get them open buy Sunday.I'm shooting up the day after x mas next Friday. Its all volunteer to clean the trails . They have been working up there all week to open them.I would call before you go up just in case
.I'm guessing by DEC 26 they should be good to go.

Went up to the West Dover/Deerfield Valley area today.....13 inches of fresh pow and still falling when I left at 4. Couldn't go more than a mile in any direction without hitting a massive downed tree. Did what we could to clear away the smaller stuff we came on, but without a groomer and chainsaw we were SOL. The water bars were covering up, but the sleds looked like we went boggin. Local radio said 6-9 more inches tonight/tomorrow and possibly more on Wed. Plenty of snow, just need to get the trails clean.

other than the regulars one person showed up to help with the trails.

it's going to take quite a while to clear the trails.

you dont need a groomer, just a saw.

Well i guess you are getting different info than i am.I'm shooting for Friday the 26.I hope they get them open by then.I was told they were trying to open by Monday.Twin Brooks said most of them were cleared and they were working on the north side of the vast.I'm not there just going on what they told me so if you have any more facts let us know. They have been working all week .Were you there or are you just guessing?

Rode the Dover area yesterday(12/27) and the conditions were rough.....spring like. Still no grooming over in that area, sounds like Woodford area is best bet based on other posts without having to go too far North.

Rode woodford yesterday.Trails were groomed but was icy and a few bare spots. We did a 100 miles .Trails were fast and slick. You could average 60 to 80 mph all day.Looks like rain up there today and warm weather coming it will be a slush pit buy this afternoon. They need 10 inches or more to be nice riding. After today maybe more.

we were out last night and the trails were hammered, on the way back from the woodford mall we had to cross a small pond. had i known i would had brought a rod to stop and see what we could had caught.

it's been raining all day and in the mid 40's.

unfortunately there are people out riding in the mud and slush.

after tomorrow with more rain, the mid 50's and sleds it will be mud season.

there will be NO base left.
