I live in western WI and have a few questions about riding in MN.

1. When do the trails open in MN? Is it just when they decide to open them? Because i heard that they are always open and you just ride them when their is snow? I have no idea

2. Do i need to buy some kind of trail pass to ride MN trails? something like riding in the UP.

3. Are their any speed limit laws like WI? I believe WI is 55mph after dusk. (if you follow that is your call!)

thanks a lot

I live in Mn so lets see if I can help.

1) They open Dec. 1st. The State trails may have gates that they can shut, but mainly do not.
2) yes there is an out of state permit required, it is like $30-40
3) The State speed limit is 55mph day or night. There are areas where it is posted lower too.

Yes the Speed Limit is only 50 MPH in MN and the only Lake in Minnesota that allows a higher speed is Lake Vermilion on the lake trails the speed limit is 60 MPH but only during the daytime and Only on Lake Vermilion..
