I just moved to the Warren area and am looking for some new riding friends between Warren and Erie and Bradford areas. My sled is legal. Looking for someone to show me around. I have ridden trail 1 in the ANF a few years ago, but that is it. My usual riding was done in the Pa Grand Canyon. In return, if someone would want to go back there and ride once the snow is good, I can show them around. There are literally hundreds of miles of different trails back home, plus its only 2 hours tops from here in Warren. I hope I can find some new people to ride with out here. Thanks in advance.

Best way to meet new people in your area is to join a local club, I ride in Chautauqua New York alot, you could always meet me there for a days ride.

Ya. As soon as I can find a local club I plan on joining. I am still a member of the Grand Canyon Club back home. If anyone knows of any clubs close to Warren, let me know. Id like to ride Ny with ya, but I just dont have the funds right now to pay their prices. If there is good snow, the ANF trail is only about 3 miles from my house, actually its just across town. If you ever want to ride the ANF, let me know and we can get together. Thanks for the heads up.

I rode trail 1 of the ANF about 2 years ago, but I dont know where all the side trails go. Im planning on riding next sunday when it opens. I have a map of the ANF somewhere, I think its in my sled. I can get another one if I cant find it. Your welcome to come over and ride. Let me know how to get ahold of you. Ill PM you my number.

If your looking for some early riding Erie has been getting dumped on. We have been riding for 3 weeks now. Snowing like a crazy right now. Calling for 10 to 15" tonight. But we all know how that goes. NY tags are a must. I dont check here to often but PM me if you know your going to come to this area. What kind of riding? just sitting back and relaxing or hardcore ditch banging? I would really like to check out the PA grand canyon. Here is a link to most of the PA clubs. Im sure you can some clubs in that area.

Thanks for the reply. How do you get to ride so early? Are your trails open? Id like to check out the Erie trails. We were over xmas shopping in Erie and I saw the sign for a snowmobile club. I dont have a NY reg. right now. Looks like I might have to get one as everyone who replies likes to ride in Ny. I can do either style of riding. I sometimes go on rides with the guys from the club back home and they are between their 60's and 80's, so they dont ride hard. However, I like to get on it now and then. Anytime you want to go to the canyon, let me know. Its a 2 hour drive from here, or we can let off at Denton Hill and ride there. Denton Hill is only about an hour and a half. Theres hundreds of miles of different trails. To check out the local snow cams and trail conditions go to www.pagrandcanyonsnowmobileclub.com and there are links to up to date snow cams. There are also some nice pics of the canyon that John has posted. Someone is always at the clubhouse on the weekends for fresh food and beverages. Plenty of lodging and ride right from the motels to the trails. Let it snow.

The trails are posted "closed during hunting hours" which is sun up to sun down in this area or Sunday. I probably already have 300 miles on my new sled, not bad for the first week of Dec. The pisc snowmobile club is a nice place to drop from if your going to ride this area. Do they get alot of snow in that canyon area? I dont need to ride a 100mph but I do like to bust thru some fresh powder or hit up a few hill climbs.
Canyonrider
As far as snow in the canyon, it just depends. There is good snow right now, but we will have to see what happens after this rain thats coming. They dont get the lake effect like we do out here. You cant let off at the Wilson Station in Ansonia, there is not enough snow to get up in, but you can let off in the Marshlands. I think the pipeline would be awesome riding this weekend. If you want hillclimbs, ya gotta try suicide at the beginning of the pipeline. Guys climb it, but you couldnt pay me enough to try it and Im usually game for just about anything. There is a fine line between crazy and stupid and Im not stupid. I dont need to ride 100mph either, luckily that is as fast as my sled will go. I will crack the throttle and open it up on a straight stretch, but I just ride normal speeds. I also dont ride from bar to bar and dont believe that alcohol and snowmobiles mix!!!

Hi Canyon Rider, we often go to the Cauneuat Lake area and ride, but, do you know how far it is to where you are talking about getting on the ANF loop? We've always wanted to go there but dont know the area, we would love to ride with you and also if you ever want to come to SW PA to the LH area, I go there when there is enough, it seems later in the year when the snow holds up, it lasts longer there. BUT we dont have any now.....NONE.... and it isnt looking good for later either...lol Im ready and willing anytime, off for the holidays till Jan 5th. give me a call if there is enough to ride after Christmas, Im willing to drive up for a few days. (Wife willing)???? she always says go when there is snow!!!!
Canyonrider
Snofish. Hey, I have no idea where the Cauneuat Lake area is. I will ask around. Im only about 2 or 3 miles from a drop area at the loop of the ANF. I rode yesterday with Velocity and his family. Had a great time and clicked 119mi. I dont know the area very well either, but I do know trail 1 and now know trail 1a and 19. I know the canyon like its the back of my hand. Velocity and I and his crew are supposed to go over to the canyon after xmas if the snow holds up. Maybe we can all get some riding in. Right now, the snow is awesome. We will see if we get this warm up. It will still be good up on top.

Id give you a call, but I dont have your #. PM me.
