I am trying to plan a 2 snowmobile trip for this winter. Looking to ride about 150 - 200 miles day 1, find a hotel with a pool and some bar/restaurants within walking distance, Day 2 ride the same or a different route back.

Live in the Milwaukee area and am willing to drive 3 or 4 hours north. Anyone have any suggestions on placed to start and end on Day 1. That snow the other day has me itchin to plan some winter trips. Need places to stay and great trails to ride.

Thanks for the input Wisconsin riders.

you could do like a minocqua to the porky pine mountains, in mi, and then back there is a nice loop you can make through there!!

Check out the Ladysmith area in Rusk County. We've got all the trails everyone else has minus the traffic. Head west into the Blue Hills or east into the Flambeau River State Forest! PM if you have questions, I can hook you up!

I don't know what type of riding you do but you could spend a week in Bayfield County just riding forrest roads and exploring off trail areas. If there is good snow you could spend some time near Cable and hit up Lakewoods or Telmark resort. If you come up this way make sure you stop at Pub and Grub.

Drop in New London Ride north to Shawano then Mountain to Carter, stay at the Casino 150+m
Next day a little southwest to Langlade then Polar, Phlox, Mattoon then Bowler to Wittenburg then Tigerton, Marion, Clintonville and back to New London. 200m Minimal traffic up to Mountain There it can get a bit heavy for about 25m to Lakewood. On the way home light traffic to Wittenburg then not real bad south to New London. Have fun let us know how it goes no matter where you decide to fly.

I was thinking about this last night. Wouldnt you go south to Lake Tomahawk, then down to Rhinelander, then up to Sugar Camp, over to Three Lakes, then up to Eagle River and back to St. Germain?

Old thread.............just stay away from Hayward, Cable, Minoqua, Hurley, and Eagle River. These are all tourist areas and attract poor riders, rough trails, and the DNR..........unless you can hit it during the week.

That sucks, My family used to have land in Hayward when I was about 5 right on a lake and a pond. I was kinda hoping to go up there sometime and go exploring
