I always hear about Dootalk rides and BBQ's in the states.
There are starting to get to be quite a few guys and gals from SK on here now. I don't really want to go for a 40 sled trail ride or anything, but what about getting together for a few beers sometime?
Anyone planning on riding in Nipawin on the Family Day Long Weekend. Me and a few buddies are heading out there, and I think there is a total of 4 of us that are Dootalkers.
Let me know what y'all think about this.

Possibly..I'm up there a fair bit in winter. I know with the SSA festival up there this year on the first week of March, a guy will want to be riding that way before it comes, otherwise you're going to probabl have to look a little harder for some fresh near the trail.
I met Frankthetank last weekend, super nice guy (I probably yapped his ear off) and mentioned hooking up for a local ride in Regina or area if we get some snow this year.

i might be interested in going. but that is a little to far ahead for me to make plans for sure. it would be nice to meet some new people from saskatchewan and put some faces to sleds

i think i would be a great idea. i dont get up there more that once a year, most riding in sask is done in duck mtn. have been wishing for snow around regina for to many years, just not going to happen, but i would be in for a dootalk ride or gathering. keep me in the loop.

I'm hoping so...we starting talking about when we were planning our trips to Nipawin this year and looking like early Jan and mid to late Feb. last year there was 8 of us. This year more??
Another nice area you guys may be interested in is where I grew up..out around Canora back in the hills..great weekend trip...lots of untouched and zero traffic

Yeah, I know there is a lot of snow up in the Canora area. Never been, but heard lots.
That's cool that you guys are planning on heading to Nipawin this year. We have a place booked for the nights of the 12, 13, 14, 15 of Feb. We are heading up there on the Thursday Morning, and we will leave on the Monday sometime. Should be a good time. Crazy amounts of snow last year. Hopefully the same this year. For a popular area, there were a lot of untouched fields and stuff that were a lot of fun. I guess a good majority of those guys up there are trail riders. They have really nice trails. We can rip everything up before all of the SSA guys get up there.

Well, well....Sask Dootalkers actually planning a get-together, it's about time..

We're in for any riding, that weekend of Feb. could work, although we have the infamous Yellowknife coming to visit us for the last week of Feb. for riding, I've booked a week off and we're going to ride for 10 days straight. Hoping to take him up Nipawin or at least Hudson Bay way for a trip..

Rotax Kid and I could sort of host something here in Canora if that's closer for anyone...

We rode for a few days up there where we hadn't before...rode for a couple of days in untouched. Beautiful country up that way. Hope we could meet up up there.



Nice country if you know where to go. Some really nice unexplored areas that the trail doesn't run around. If they didn't fence for cattle up there, would be nicer yet..was until about 5 years ago. There's a few areas in the North country where I never see tracks...ever. Can ride in waist deep for half a day without crossing and you're never more than 10 miles from fuel.
Be careful with Nipawin last week of Feb..provincial festival is up there that weekend...groomed trails will be nice before the weekend, but will probably be alot of traffic out that way during the weekend.

It would nice to come up and ride with you and RK, seeing as how you know the area real well.
We do most of "local" riding in the Fort Qu'Appelle area. But it seems like we get less and less winter each year. It's sad really.

Sounds great, anytime. We like to ride....a lot.

Maybe we can even convince some of the Sask. Dootalkers to join the Doocrew and we'll provide some goodies that we've collected over the years. (We've got quite the collection of swag)

As tempting as riding with PAPASLED & Co. sounds 36 hours one way to Canora for a weekend might be a tadd too much to try and sell to the Mrs.

If I believed you wouldn't dump it in the first 3 seconds, I'd let you drive it, but let's be honest, you'll have that thing on it's side faster than I can say "get off my sled!"

If i dont blow mine up by then (and my wife lets me) i'd think about goin to nipawin. Anyone wanting to ride around regina/lumsden, FT.Q, lemme know, im in for sure. I might blow this thing up before the snow falls though...lol.

We ride in FT Q every chance we get. There is a group of about 8 of us who have cabins there, or in my case, my parents live out there. That's where my sled lives in the winter cause there is no white gold where I live. Once the snow falls, we can meet up some time.

Well if any of you guys are ever riding out to any of the beaches of come to the Strasbourg hills thats my area. I live half hour from Regina and not even 10 mins from the hills which is awesome riding if there is some decent snow and you know where your going in them. Im always up for a group ride if its within a couple hours of me.

Your Mom and old man did a lot of work on my parents house when they built. They live just across the lake from My parents. They had the little trackhoe over to pull some trees.

With my 20ft enclosed trailer..................the only wind I care about is a cross wind!.

Yep, I ride 60% of my weekends around Saskatoon. Other 40% at Meeting lake/Spiritwood area, got a cabin up there.

Bought my 09 from Seasons Edge in Nipiwan, I'd be in for a ride up there for sure.

How much was that gas rack?

80 bucks I believe american. Got the can from canadian tire 2.5 gallon and the strap is actually a polaris gas caddy strap

I like it fits nice on there, the gas can will never rub on the tunnel marking it up or scratching it.

I believe that the trip is already planned. I have the cabin booked and I even got a hold of a 4 place trailer here in Gull Lake that I will be able to bring. Got my new truck now too, so I am ready to ride. Sled is all back together now, except for some anti-seize compound on the new floater secondary. And I need to change my carbides, but that is about 10 mins of work.
For those who haven't heard, we will be in Nipawin on Feb. 12, 13, 14, 15 and leaving on the 16. There will be 4 dootalkers staying in our cabin. Only 2 of us that are real sledders haha. But if you would like to meet us up there, Frank and I would be glad to buy the first round. Ain't that right Eli???
