Myself and a friend bought 2 sleds this year and are looking for good trails to ride when we come up to MN. WE live in Des Moines and want to drive a reasonable distance into MN for trails. Maybe somewhere north of the twin cities or something like that. Can anyone give suggestions on where to go and stay? Maybe a link or something. Thanks for all your help everyone.

there are a lot of good places, the north shore / iron range area is usually good. just get on i35 till it ends and look for snow. lets wait to see who gets the snow TgC_emoticon142.gif

The further north you drive the better the snow will be. It is possible to sled just north of the Twin Cities but usually the trails are in horrible shape just a day or two after a snowfall. I do the majority of my riding in the Brainerd lakes area and Aitkin area. There are plenty of trails, restaurants, gas stations, and hotels. I haven't got a link for you but if you check out the MN DNR site you will find trail maps.
And like the link above mine, the Duluth area off of 35 usually has the most snow. ridedoo.gif

I live 40 miles north of the cities on 35, there are some good trails around here but you have to know where to go because some of the trails are groomed more frequently than others....email me at mnboy26@yahoo.com and i can help you out.

Make the trip up to the North Shore or Iron Range. Definetely worth it. If you need any advice on trails around the Iron Range, just drop me a PM and I'd be glad to help around here.
