Share your good Gaspe experiances! Thanx :

We will be coming from Ontario...

You don't need a tour guide if you have a reasonable amount of experience with planning and riding. There really are no herculean obstacles and just remember to be careful with gas stops.

Where did we leave that v-force deal at...? Thought you told me you could buy new ones cheaper?

Thought was a service out there that arranged all the lodging and helped out if you couldn't make your stop?
rotax583
yes there is a service that does all that.I'll check that out for you and get some phone #'s.where exactly do you want to go and are you sledding down or driving a ways first by truck?
Cudney Racing
The sledding there is awesome, can't say the same for much else. - Bill

I've been there twice and always had great experiences with all of the people we encountered. It's not the place to go if you expect to find 5 star accomodations in every town but everyone was more than helpful.

I must admit the 5 star hotels are rare!!! lol there is the town of Gaspé and there is the gaspé coast(gaspesie) Im from Gaspé the town.in the last 2 years the town made a complete turn around.we now have a big factory that really helped the community and everything else.as for the rest of the coast it's all really small towns.the trails are usually very good unless we have a winter like last winter.the dozzers couldnt furnish!!!im sure any visit to Gaspé will be greatly appreciated

You contridicted yourself with the "bilingual service, friendly people" statement.

Gee,do I detect a little sarcasm in some of these posts?lol

Reminds me of when I used to truck and would end up in Montreal every couple of weeks... Back then with the separtist movement, the bilingual people (management) thought they were gonna rule the world and were very difficult... THe regular working frenchmen(whom I could NOT understand) were usually very helpful... I'll admit, the language barrier could be a problem...

Usually when were done for the day,a warm bed, cold whiskey and beer, and a hot shower is all that is needed....just looking for a change from northern Ontario....

Yes,we will be driving out to (hopefully) do the big loop!

It was just a little joke about frenchman man. No big deal.

Did the loop last Feb with no reservations, no real plans. Great time, except the North Coast has a lot of snirt around Rimouski and the trails from around Cap Chat to Petit Valle were crap due to a broken groomer when we were there.
Other than that, Great riding. Tried a short cut at 7pm in snowstorm from Escuminac to Causapascal, don't recommend it. It was fun, but scared the crap out of my riding partners i think.

Check my vid on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlq_YTLHpoQ

I recommend the cabins by St. Madeleine...great folks, great food, pricey beverages, great views.

i'm working on a project right now,it will only be for next winter but I will have cabins and everything one would need.it will be located 2 minutes from the groomed trail and available to the quads in the summer also.my dad has a piece of land where the trail crosses on it.there will be promotions for all the dootalkers and more

3 years straight..... we leave from hotel universale in riv de loups and do the clockwise tour, one time we crossed over at 'point a la croix or something and toured through new brunswick...
it is AWESOME>>>>>the best sledding, scenery, hospitable people, although the fuel quality at some of the remote stations may leave a bit to be desired...
the locals are very friendly and helpful, i will always include gaspe as one of my winter tours...
"only" a 7 hour drive from ottawa.... and worth it. you can be 2000ft above sea level, looking down on the st. lawrence or running through the awesome windmill farms in the mountains, matane, etc. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
