Full Version: Great Expectations
Rode Saturday after the steady and then heavy all day Friday rain. Trailered up high as the valley trails in Pittsfield were muck. Tons of people getting around on the snirt, though. Plenty of poaching going on as well. Non -stickered sleds were in abundance. Everything high and in the woods was great. Mashed potatos and super smooth as the rain softened and flattened everything. Trails near the resevoir were starting to brown up but all in all the snowpack is still good and VERY rideable. No washouts or waterbars yet but a couple of the trails had narrowed because of hard running water on the sides. Really has been a banner year and if you dont mind the impending thinning of the trails the riding should continue right to the sixteenth, even with the warmup coming.
