Can a bad thermostat cause antifreeze to come out of the overflow??? I have a 98 Mach 1 and after putting about 80 miles on it this past Saturday the coolant bottle was empty after a short ride on Sunday morning. There doesn't appear to be any leaks anywhere and a friend of mine told me it may be my thermostat... So any info would be appreciuated.

Sounds like a head gasket or o-ring is cracked/broken.

It sounds like a bad antifreeze cap

Take ur cap off and look down the hole of ur coolent take and see if its eggshaped and if it is get a new tank thats what happened to mine. it would suck air ,build pressure and then push antifreeze right out the over flow.

it could be your cap but when I had that same problem it ended up being one of the o-ring head gaskets.
