Really cannot remember such good consecutive days of riding. Friday, we left Pittsfield and headed south. FST long tracker fired right up in minus 15 temp. South Hill was good with about ten inches of fresh. Groomers were out and about and 100 and 12 were fast. Even the roads in Bridgewater were ok. Coolidge was great. 12 and 4 were good with firm base under 6 inches of light snow. Ludlow was a bit busier and some folks were struggling with the steeps with short lug tracks. Headed to Long Trail Brewery for lunch. So did everone else. Packed. Rode back through Barnard and me and my buddy pulled a guy out of the fluff close to Bethel. He tried to pass a groomer and got sucked over the bank. Should have left the idiot there. The groomer did! Satuday we rode to Barre. 112 out of Pittsfield was best ever and 12 was awesome all the way. Next to nobody on the trails. Hard snow, almost whiteout must have kept them in. Cookshack in Braintree was hit for a dirty water dog. Might need a tetanus shot after that stop. Fueled up in Northfield and kept heading north into deeper snow. Again the short track, low lug sleds were getting stuck on some steeps. Headed back 100 through Texas Falls. Not so good. Granville was complete whiteout. Pretty beat up and bumped most of the way until about seven miles from Pittsfield. Probably groomed by now. Get out and ride asap as trails are mint and it is getting warm!
