Any dooTalkers from Utah?

I am riding in the Strawberry area on Wednesday (Feb 27) and was wondering how conditions are and if you had any advice on where to go ... or not go ... while there.

Ross, you sure doo get around. Looks like you had a great time riding in Maine, have fun in Utah(i'm so jealous) and ride safe. Be sure to post some pics for us.

Got my camera packed. Hopefully will have some nice shots of powder and mountains! Talk to ya when I get back Dan.

Welp ... not too many dooTalkers from Utah. But I can say it's a beautiful place to ride if you do ever get the chance.

We did 70 miles in the strawberry area. About 20 on the trail and 50 in powder. Depending on where we were the fresh stuff was 10 inches to 4 feet deep. I did get stuck pretty good once :-) I have never been mountain riding and it was an absolute blast. I was really worn out by the end of the day. Rode a Yamaha 3 cylinder 2 stroke mountain sled for about 20 miles. And a brand new (200 miles) XP Summit 800r for the other 50!

Here are a couple pics from the day.

The first one is my favorite ... me on a Summit ... HOOAH!

It was a whole different world than riding in New York ... that's for sure Ian.
PAH!!!
darn, that looks like endless fun. i met up with a few good dooTalkers last weekend in Tug Hill. excellent weekend, i did a little over 400 miles.

i think my mother said in 2 years we will be going to Wyoming for some sleddin'. some family friends just got back from there, and gave us a CD full of pics. too bad i won't see them until Friday.

doo you mind if i ask how much everything cost for this trip? supposedly when we go to Wyoming, it will cost a little over $1,500 per person.

Well, this wasn't a vacation trip. I was out there on business and just brought all my gear so I could take 1 day off and have fun. We rode on my Utah co-workers sleds and so had no other expense than gas! This was quite an inexpensive day in the powder for me!

That said, I had so much fun that I have started to look into options to go back out with my son and spend a couple days with rented sleds and probably a guide. I will be interested to know what outfitter/business your family is planning to use for your vacation.
